Abyss victory!

So I'm playing Tales of the Abyss and while I was getting more supplies before trying to attempt the final fights again....
I decided, hell, why not, and tried to fight Nebilim.
I beat her on the first try! YAY BITCHES!! XPXP I wasn't expecting to beat her. lol I wasn't even expecting to last more than a few minutes. But I did! I beat the hardest boss in the game! Whoo! And I was only at level 70. ^__^ Though ironically enough, Jade died and I didn't get to revive him in time...so he didn't get all the exp from the battle. Which is kinda lame considering its kinda...his fight. XP
Now to get all the scenes I can get after defeating her. *happy* And to beat the game too of course...
(Sorry, I've just like never managed to actually beat the hard optional boss in a game before, lol)
Cassandra - You should try fighting her. If I could beat her, I'm sure you can!

enjoy your catalyst weapons, once you finish unsealing them :D you probably won't have any problem with Van's (three part...) final battle, but do be sure to enjoy the awesome music. (and listening to the grand fonic hymn, in its entirety. probably one of my favorite music pieces ever)

Date: 2008-03-01 07:25 pm (UTC)I have a love/hate relationship with the fact all characters gain exp even when you're not using them. 'Cause when a char dies, they don't get any and then the chars I don't use end up having a higher level than one I use all the time. x_x;; At least Jade wasn't dropped back too much. He was still higher than Anise and same level as Natalia but he went from my 2nd highest char to like 4th just from that. XP
Hm, I'm confused on the catalyst weapons. They were still the same low level even after the fight. O_o; And yeah, I had some issues with the final fight the first time I tried (before I went and beat Nebilim) because I forgot to buy some Life bottles and so Tear ended up dying and I had no way to revive her or anyone else. Though my 2nd try at it with items...I ended up not having to use like any items at all. XP I think 'cause I started using my awesome strategy system I used on Nebilim, which made the fight go slower but it ensured everyone stayed alive. lol
Are there any other vocal tracks on the OST besides the opening? 'Cause afterwards I finally watched the Abyss skit that was at Katsucon (I was afraid it might spoil me so thus I waited, luckily I didn't go to the Masquerade at the time) and the music they used sounded like it might possibly be from the game. Well, some of it probably wasn't but I swear the last piece sounded like a remix of the grand fonic hymn and it was really cool. Though I suppose they could've made the mix themselves. Which in case I may have to track those cosplayers down and ask if I can have a copy of their mix as it was awesome. XP

Date: 2008-03-01 10:21 pm (UTC)you have to fight 300 battles on hard mode to get Luke's berserker title, so you can always give it a try doing that. :P (maybe on 2nd playthrough) Difficulty is changeable at any time (except during battles), so it's not like you're stuck with it permanently. nebilim you have to fight on very hard, though, and that's a little....DX
there aren't any vocal tracks besides カルマ and Tear's grand fonic hymn (*o*); what they used in the first part of their skit was Xepher (download here), which happens to be one of my favorite pieces of DDR music. I suspect the last piece is DDR as well in origin. The melody isn't from toa though, I can tell you that much. If you ever want the osts, I can upload and/or send them to you over aim. Here's the BoC composed pack in the meanwhile, it has all the end game music among other things (like the grand fonic hymn). I also have the 3rd and 4th drama cds (lol condensed storylines).
as for the katsucon skit, I liked it and the interest in abyss it seems to be spurring....although their costumes were missing a lot of pieces, so I'm a bit puzzled about the master craftsmanship award. >_>;;; *will give you a full rundown on aim sometime maybe* A skit award would have made more sense.
as for the catalyst weapons, I'll copypasta from gamefaqs:
To activate the weapons, you must talk to Peony and Tritheim after defeating
Nebilim. Equiping the Catalysts will ignore your Physical and Fonic Attacks
stats and all damage will be based on the number of enemies the characters have
killed. The maximum number is 9999.
In other words: The Catalyst Weapons will not add with your Physical/Fonic
Attack stats but will be based on the number of enemies you
have killed from the start of the game.

Date: 2008-03-01 10:28 pm (UTC)Ah, ok, I don't know why I was thinking that. lol It was pretty late at night so maybe my mind was just coming up with odd things. But thanks as I really want that music anyways. XP It was prety!
Not sure if I want the entire OST but may want some pieces. Will think on it. Granted I keep forgetting I have A LOT more room on this laptop than the old one so I probably should just yoink it. XP
And ya know, I actually did read that on gamefaqs yet somehow I missed the "will ignore your phsyical and fonic attacks" bit. XP *lame* So that makes a lot more sense now. Oh well, lol, can always test them out if I start a 2nd playthrough.

Date: 2008-03-01 10:33 pm (UTC)they get really powerful once you kill a bunch of crap, though. it can make them the strongest weapons in the game. :D if you carry over your data from previous game in the grade shop, it should help too (so you'd likely have all of your kills from the previous playthrough already accredited).
I can always send it in its entirety, and then you can delete off what you don't like, perhaps.
2nd playthrough is interesting since you get to understand a lot more things having gone through it once, like guy "....."ing at cecille (lol related), and him being sneaky with van at the beginning, and etc etc etc.
