18. What is your best cosplay memory?

Oh man this is a really hard one. I've had way too many great moments to really chose one "best" memory. NOIZ spazzing out over my Ciel costume is pretty high up there though. XD Especially as I didn't want to be stuck in that costume during the photo and autograph session but ended up that way due to the schedule...but in the end it ended up becoming a great experience since I had the entire band going "Kawaii~!" as soon as I entered the room. And then Kyo and Angel-Taka both looking it over and being all impressed that I made it myself. XD; Its always a plus when the band you're into is are also anime geeks. lol As Kyo even was all "Ah! Ciel-kun!"

And while this isn't exactly my memory because I wasn't there for it...at Katsucon 2005 I made my first "commission". In the sense that it was the first outfit I made for someone else. He paid for the materials and I sewed it together and it wasn't very good and I made a lot of mistakes in sizing but Jeremy was still happy about it. I made him an Alex Rowe costume from Last Exile as we were both big Last Exile fans and Range Murata was going to be at the con. I sadly could not attend the panel because the PLC events were around the same timeframe and I wasn't going to miss anything PLC related. So Jeremy went to the panel in costume on his own. And he gets into the elevator to head to the panel and hears a Japanese voice behind him "...Alex Rowe?" and he turns around and THERE is Range Murata. XD And he got excited over Jeremy's costume and asked his wife to take a photo of him and Jeremy together. And they walked to the panel together. Haha! XD So that always made me REALLY happy that the creator of the design actually liked my costume (as bad as it was pffft). 'Cause that really is one of the biggest honors a cosplayer can have.

Overall the amount of good memories in all my cosplays far outweighs the bad ones. Which is one of the reasons why I still do it. As even when bad things happen, I always find a way to still have fun.

Wow, those are both really great memories! I agree that that's the highest honor a cosplayer can have, hehe.

By the way...I stopped into Michaels earlier today and I came across something that may or may not help you with your resin issues. Might not be a good idea, dunno, but I thought I would toss it your way anyway. I saw these clear plastic balls that come apart, for like $1-$2. I saw them on the shelf as sphere halves (taped together) and thought "Hey, I wonder if you could use these as molds for resin gems like people do with the paint trays?" They came in a lot of sizes, fairly large (maybe baseball size?) to the size like the paint tray gems. Not sure how easily you would be able to get resin out of the plastic spheres I saw today, but I know you were having a hard time with your molds. Also, if nothing else, I figured you might be interested in them in case you decide you never wanted to work with resin again and wanted a different option, lol.

And these spheres were empty, so I mean you could fill them with resin, in case that wasn't clear. :P

Actually those are what I've been using to make my molds with. ^^;; They don't work very well as molds themselves 'cause the plastic is too thin. I've been told you can break them apart to get the resin out but I'd be too afraid of damaging the resin in the process. T_T; That and they smell really bad. I don't know why but the smell just really bothered me after a while. But I am considering using them for future ones and just painting them 'cause I think I'm going to give up on any future resin like this for at least quite some time.

Ahhhhh crud! I didn't know you had been using those. All I knew was that you were trying the rubber and silicon molds. Boo. I tried lol. Yeah, I think they could be good for painting. I would go for the iridescent glass paint for those so you can get a nice shiny color, and it allows it to remain translucent if you don't paint too many layers. ^^

S'ok ^^ I appreciate the fact that you were trying to help and that you thought of me. ^.^ But yeah that was something originally suggested to me. I just really wanted the clear resin effect for this particular costume but they should work for the next one that has "shoulder boobs" since they don't need to be clear.
