Cosplay 30 - Day 28

28. Where do you work on your cosplays and where do you store them when they’re done?
I work in the "basement". Though we don't really have a basement. Our house is only two floors and you enter on the top floor so that's why the bottom floor feels like a basement just 'cause its half underground and such. So we tend to call it that. But yeah I pretty much live down here. XD I don't spend much time in my actual room.
So you go down the stairs and you see this mess...
And that is where I work. ^^;;; Aka "the dungeon" aka "the disaster zone". I would say its not always this bad but I actually haven't really had a chance to clean it up in quite some time as every time I'm done with one con, it seems I'm working for the next one and it gets crazy again. But I do try to clean it up at least somewhat after each con.
My beloved Bernina and Mom's Serger which I kidnapped like over a year ago and now lives down here. lol Oddly enough she has yet to need it in all that time. Which is why its stayed down here. It used to live in her sewing room but we both got tired of me having to go in there to do all my serging so figured it'd be easier if I just set it up down here. ...I don't think Mom is going to ever get it back now. >>; Though I have a feeling she'll make me hand it over when I move out. *le sigh*
And more of the disaster zone and all the things I've been working on. There's like at least three costumes in this picture. XD Both Squall and Kaiba are hanging on the cabinet and the pants/pieces for them on that one chair. They're both done and just chilling. Takuto...is everywhere as you can see. And well the coat WAS finished but I took the resin orbs off the shoulder pads because whenever the light hits them, you can see the uneven glue and it was REALLY bothering me. It even shows up in photos pretty badly even from a distance so I'm going to try to get a bigger glue gun and try again. Luckily they came off pretty easily with using a hair dryer to melt the glue enough so it'd peel off.
And all my current costumes tend to go on this rack here. This is pretty much everything from this year and last year though I'm going to have to start taking some of it off to make room for the rest of this year.
The rest is in my closet. Say hi to Gil. XD Ciel is under him and the unfinished Brutus is next to them. I tend to hang the costumes that have pieces that can't get smushed on the door. But yeah going to have to start putting the ones that I'm not wearing as much now into the closet as running out of space on the door and on the rack. But yeah there is VERY few pieces of clothing in my closet that's not used for costumes. 'Cause even most of my regular dress shirts and jackets usually end up being used for a costume. XD;
And everything from 2001 to about 2005 and some of 2006 is in this box. There's a lot in there and these are the things I'm never going to wear again but I just haven't had the heart to throw out. None of it is worth selling which is why I don't mind just folding them up and smushing them together in there. I have taken some of them apart to use things for current costumes (such as zippers and buttons) but otherwise they're mostly still intact. And then the few that aren't squishable are in the storage room hanging in the corner "closet", never to see the light of day again (such as my first Abel costume).
