2007 review
Everyone's doing these so of course I need to do mine too. XP Though in comparison with 2006, this year was not nearly as eventful. In fact I'm having to go back into my LJ calendar to even remember what happened this year. ^^;; And I wonder if its sad that all my "big" events are all anime, cosplay, or doll related.
January:
- Nothing really happened at all to start off the year. I spent New Year's with Magenta, Alyce, Brittany, etc. And Dietrich met Julian for the first time. That's about all though.
February:
- X-Japan first announces the reunion tour. And now its actually happen in '08 but I probably won't be able to see it. ;_; *sigh*
- Katsucon:
- the con actually managed to redeem itself for me but then I think it was mostly due to the people there. Nowhere as bad as the previous year at least.
- Went to my first doll meet while at Katsu
- My big costume of this con was Albert from Gankutsuou and the matching Franz I made for Magenta. Still very proud of how those came out.
- Also got to be Seimei the pimp for our late night Loveless group, which was a lot of fun. And met![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
vicky_licious and "lj user="zephyrsky"> and oogled over Takarazuka goodness.
March:
- Finished Final Fantasy XII
- Started working on Shaka (yes, it was that early) a project I would be working on for months XP
- My parents got Rascal, the new puppy, who has been driving me insane ever since.
April:
- Played Suikoden II finally and was very very happy.
- Went to DC's sakura matsuri with Hamilton and Kara and went to my first oustside-a-con doll meet.
- Jael got kicked off America's Next Top Model. Dani and I cursed over IMs as we watched it at the same time. XP
- April 26: My 2nd doll, Lucian Mephistopheles arrives, my beloved little Kirill. And Die learns he has to start sharing his living space with him. XP
May:
- Tsubasa starts getting REALLY angsty. And I love it. I love it lots.
- My junior year of college comes to an end.
- My friend Ian Glascow passes away suddenly, shocking all of us who knew him. First time ever a friend of mine has died. Before that it had only been relatives I barely knew so this hit me quite hard. I attended his funeral with Hamilton and Andrew. Ian is still greatly missed at our school.
June:
- Magenta visits for a week to work on Saint Seiya costumes and whatnot. I have already pretty much finished Shaka at this point and we go through the pain that is Mu. It was a pretty epic-ful week, some good, some bad. But in the end Mu was done at least and there was a whole lot of doll photos. We also had a fabulous Gankutsuou photoshoot in DC with Ling. Got some really good photos of my Albert costume.
- Spent some time at Ling's with Magenta. Hadn't been to Ling's house in years. ^^;; Probably should attempt to hang out more often.
- Returned Suikoden II to Magenta and got Suikoden I from Ling. XP
July:
- DreamOfDoll tortures everyone by releasing the Black Elf Ducan. And then the day afterwards I manage to win my own regular Elf Ducan. And then began the week long wait for him.
- AnimeNEXT:
- Had an awesome time with the joined rooms. And a whole lot of DOCs.
- Entered Shaka and won my first hall costume award, though it was just a judge's award, it still makes me happy. ^_^ The Saint Seiya costumes were a pain to wear and sadly didn't get as many photos as we wanted but it was still awesome to have them done.
- Saw 12012 at the con
- Did an awesome Nana photoshoot with Alyssa and Cassie. And got to know both of them better.
- June 16 - My dream doll, Elf Ducan, Lucifer, arrives. *_* I still can't believe I actually have him.
-Otakon:
- I got to see my friend Jamie after a very long absense of a few years. Her and her bf Josh spent some time at my house before the con.
- Once again had joined rooms of awesome-ness. And oh the late night cosplay craziness! Lots of hours spent in the hallway helping Dani and Darlene...or just watching them at times. XP Though it was quite the experience helping with Cain.
- Missed Seki both times. ;_; Which I actually now really regret. I should've made a bigger effort.
- D.Gray-Man group of awesome-ness especially Randy with his gazillion pockets which was soooo handy.
- Turned Abel into semi-Crusnik Abel though felt really small compared to Dani and Dar and the other Abel I saw. ^^;;; Oh well. I tried my best at least. The make-up job PA-Jamie did was amazing though!
- As Zelos, showing up late to the "Tales of" shoot, only to then have all the Tales of Abyss cosplayers stop, turn around, and go "ZELOS!!" all at the same time. I felt loved. XP And the Sheena and Lloyd from Symphonia that hung with me were very awesome and totally in character.
- Getting to work at Hirameki's booth on Sunday and getting free games as a result. Though I still have yet to play any of them. ^^;;
August:
- I drop my phone in a bowl of ramen and almost screwed it up but it still lived. XP
- I find out about Kamijo's new band, Versailles, and fall utterly in love all over again.
- Got to spend a day with Alyce, playing with our dolls and she introduces me to Saiunkoku
- And I get even more obsessed with Tsubasa. XP
- First semester of senior year begins.
- Lock-down on school occurs due to an armed robbery at Church Point. The whole campus' reaction was pretty much "O_o?". lol
September:
- We begin production for A Midsummer Night's Dream and I become Costume Shop Manager and assigned Titania's insane dress of doom!
- Jes visits me at school for the weekend and we have lots of doll silliness.
- Crisis Core arrives and I play it every chance I get. XP
October:
- I finish Crisis Core and bawl my eyes out.
- I got my hair cut finally the way I want it to be.
- Midsummer opens and lasts for two weeks. Spent a few shows visiting backstage and then finally saw it and LOVED it. Best production we've ever put on in my opinion and best version of Midsummer ever. XP
- CLAMP In Wonderland 2 comse out. XP And I still spazz every time I watch it.
- Had a rather uneventful Halloween. Attempted to spend it with my apartment-mates but alas, Halloween still is not fun for me on campus. So instead spend it with my dolls. XP
November:
- Finally read RG Veda and see Paprika. Both which were amazing.
-AnimeUSA:
- The year AnimeUSA became Katsucon. o_o;;
- First time arriving at a con before its even set up and leaving when its being taken down. Helped Gabi and her team set up tech stuff for a while and got a free room Thurs night as a result.
- Finally had a new Count Cain outfit, which I'm very proud of as I think its the best one I've made so far.
- Cosplay on a Budget panel went well and was fun. BL Panel...fell apart thanks to Mr. Bara. >>;
- Got the CLAMP 3D Ashura figurine!
- Went to a small but pretty nice doll meet on Sat morning
- Wore Saint Seiya again and was actually recgonized. Was very happy that Lionel and Al knew who we were and took lots of awesome pictures. Also met Ray, an awesome and adorable Saint Seiya fan.
- Tsubasa group didn't quite happen but at least we got some pics of Fai and Sakura, which was a lot of fun. And all of Sat night talking with Sarah and people about Tsubasa was awesome.
December:
- Turned 22.
- Barely survived my hardest semester of college.
- Went to NYC for the very first time and had tons of fun. Saw Magenta and stayed with Ana and Stef. Then went to NYAF and didn't even have to pay for the con. Dietrich and Lucifer got restrung and fun was had by all.
- I get a new fox beanie baby from Jamie. ;_;
- Christmas comes and goes, nothing all that special this year.
- I begin playing Persona 3.
All in all, not much really. I think the biggest event of the year was getting Lucifer. Since he is my dream doll and all. *_* Got to meet a number of awesome people, most of which I already knew before but didn't really get to know-know til this year.
