Yes, I'm shocked, XD!

I was killed by the first boss, too. A couple of times. But that only made me try harder, I hate when the games are too easy. So, for me, that was a bonus point. The Spanish translation sucked pretty hard, but I think the problem was me not paying attention to the message in the screen and understimating the importance of healing oneself.

I've always liked Tifa, though. A lot more than Aerith, who got on my nerves. I was more than happy when in the Gold Saucer it was her I got the date with. I suppose I had been rude to Aerith the whole game. But I was sad when she died, really sad. It was really unexpected (I saw no commercial with that scene in it, fortunately).

And yes, I think it's the first game I played where I wanted to be told more of the story, I really wanted to know what was happening. Never before I've been looking forward to the "boring explanation necessary for the game to go on". I got goosebumps with the flashbacks in the Mako reactor (great music, by the way). I remember the scene in the Temple of the Ancients and me resisting with Cloud, I didn't want to press the button and delayed the moment because I didn't want to give that Black Matter, no fucking way! It took me a lot to finally do it. And Sephiroth is still the best villain in a videogame ever. We've already talked before about Cloud, so I won't repeat myself on that account.

But yes, FFVII is still special to me, too. Even if the graphics are so old-looking, I don't care. It retains the magic.
