Akihiko Wig

So I'm trying to fix up my Akihiko costume. And I have a question on the wig 'cause I got a more white wig instead of a silver one. And well I thought white would work fine but the wig is almost a blonde color...and I do have silver sharpies just by chance...so...

Akihiko for those that don't know P3:

I had probs trying to find a silver wig originally and I saw a lot of people just used white so didn't think it would be a problem...

It might be a good idea to trim it/style it a bit too. I voted to sharpie the color ^_^

I'm just nervous with styling as you know how I fail at that. And I don't want it cut too much more as then my real hair will show. But there were those few strands that were like so annoying last I wore it. Maybe I should get someone to cut it a little for me at the con.

i voted sharpie it.... but only if ya have the time and want to. the white isnt to bad... but it is a bit more silverish i guess. X3

*nod* Well I think the wig would work better if it was white-white too. Its such an odd shade of white. lol I didn't do anything with it at Katsu 'cause I got the wig delivered AT the con so didn't have much choice.

I agree with attacking it a little with some silver... maybe only at the roots so its gets that neat toning thing going.

Also what time are you getting in to Otakon. If we're not in too late or if you can wait until some time Friday I could trim up and try styling the wig really fast for ya. Its about a million times easier to do it when I have the person sitting in front of me to style on.

I'm not sure yet as I'm going to have to hitch a ride from Dad so it all depends on when he gets off work. I'm going to try to get there somewhere between 3 and 6.

*nod* That may be cool. Also 'cause as I've said to others, I'm just a little worried about making this wig shorter because I've worn a wig with the shorter style before and I could never get it to cover all my hair unless I like shaved the sides and I'm not going to do that. XP

Hmm, welp I know friends who've used the direct sharpie method and never had a problem so I know it works. I've just never done it myself. I don't think I'll be trimming it myself though as I really really fail at cutting. LOL And welp like I said I did do experimenting on one of my failed wigs with this same sharpie so I know it takes pretty well.

Hm, maybe it depends on the wig too? 'Cause like I said, the part of the wig that I sharpied was fine (the rest of it not so fine but that was because of something not related to sharpie, lol). But I do know the feeling you're talking of as I've had that with some color sprays.

Well, my vote is sharpie it...you should see the gray I gots even though I used an artists ink instead of sharpie.

And if you need help styling, we can always do that at the hotel a bit. I'm going to have to tease my wig to high heavens...

LOL Are we all going to get high off of fumes?

Artist inks do work, just look for the ones that say water proof and that sort. You can mix 'em with rubbing alcohol to make more of it or lessen the intensity of the color. You can also squeeze the ink out of sharpies (after cutting away the plastic part) but it makes a huge mess for a pitiful amount of ink, so the bottles artists ink work best. The ones I used to a good deal of success were Koh-i-nor mixed media and india inks.

oh and to apply it just use katie bairs or whoever's spray bottle, set, and rinse technique. Just buy sample bottle spray bottles from walmart or a drugstore cause you destroy 'em in the process.
