Cosplay Wanted Ad XD;

I know most of you probably already have all your cosplay plans figured out for the next few cons but I thought I'd put this out there anyways...

I'm trying to see if anyone would be up for joining me for cosplaying Ningyou Kyuutei Gakuden (aka Guginol Kyuutei Gakuden, aka "Guignol Royla Orchestra" etc etc). It's a manga by Kaori Yuki that finished in Japan only a few months ago with a total of 5 volumes. For those not familiar with her, Kaori Yuki is the author of Angel Sanctuary and Count Cain/GodChild.

Ideally I'd like to do it for either AnimeUSA or Katsucon but could be willing to do it at a later con with people as well... Kinda have wanted to cosplay it for a while now but I think it'd be more fun with at least one other person. The manga isn't out in the US yet (but will be in October) and the scanlations are still in volume 3 and are now a bit hard to find but I can send them to you if you want to read it.

Basic Plot:
They fight zombie dolls with music.

Ok there's a lot more to it than that but it's kinda complex and hard to talk about without giving any spoilers as there are plot twists happening from the very first few chapters. So just kinda have to read it. It's pretty twisted and dark but there is actually quite a bit of humor in it as well. Typical of Kaori Yuki's mangas. If you've liked ANY of her previous works, you'll like it. It's by far one of my favorites.

Characters:
- Descriptions are going to be kinda vague to avoid spoilers. Can't even say their genders as that's a spoiler for some of them. XD;

- Short, brown hair, has lots of outfits, mostly "choir boy" ish ones - Probably the closest to "normal" of all the characters, kinda see the story through Eles' POV

Kohaku - violinist

- Tall, long silver/gray hair, quiet and kinda mysterious, has a pet hedgehog XDXD, kinda reminds me of Undertaker from Kuroshitsuji design-wise - sorry, not many good images of him as he mostly stands in the back of the group

Spinel - spy of sorts

- Badass chick! XD; Seen in a variety of outfits due to being a spy and all. No color images of her so no idea what color her hair is so you'd have a bit of creativity with that and color of outfits. Often has a "-_-" look on her face.

Cordierette - aka "Cordie" - the current "queen"

- Has one of the biggest wardrobes of the cast and probably the most complex ones too. Blonde I'm guessing from the 3rd image which is the most recent cover art (there was no color image of her til then, I'd always assumed she was redhead for some reason). Can't really say much about her without spoiling anything. ^^; Note: she looked quite different when she was younger, was kinda a nerdy looking little thing with freckles

...yes that's a nun's habit XD; I kinda can't really say anything about the character without spoiling anything though. lol And once again no color images. In fact posting that image alone is a little bit of a spoiler in a way. ^^; But I had to list this character as its just kinda an amazing desgin. XD haha!

I know it's a long shot but thought I'd put it out there anyways. XD; If nothing else, even if you don't want to cosplay it, check the manga out anyways as I'm tired of being like the only one I know who knows it. T_T

I'd love to do something just for the pretty, but I can't guarantee I can make it back to the states for a con before Anime Boston. ;-;

Oh man, if I could make it to those cons, I'd do it, but the chances that I'd be able to are extremely extremely slim :( I just don't make enough money to be able to travel much anymore AND cosplay x_x

I've been out of manga for so long though, that I didn't even realize Kaori Yuki had a new series! I really wanna read it now :D

And dude, I've just started to get into Kuroshitsuji, which I am loving...I love all the Victorian-ish fashions of that, and all these characters too. I'm such a sucker for that sort of thing XD

aerendia.net is the scanlator group but as you can see, the site is pretty much down right now. Not that it would matter 'cause they only release it via mIRC right now and onemanga is no more (they used to have it up)

Thank you! I just finished the first chapter, and I totally wasn't expecting that, although I should've xP But I really like it! Will definitely keep reading. Now I want to re-read God Child and everything else too. And its gonna make me want to cosplay so much x_x

XD Yeah now you can see why I couldn't say much in the character descriptions 'cause even the first chapter does that! XD; And the whole manga is kinda like that. No one is really who they seem to be at first. lol I love it XD

Oh and this is actually not her newest series even. She's been quite busy! She already started a new one. Only one chapter out yet so I know like nothing about it though. And she even wrote like another chapter of Bloodhound a while back. Then there's that epilogue to Cain I made a post about a few months ago. And there's Camelot Garden too if you haven't gotten to reading that one yet. Short story but pretty crazy.

Also some of the groups went back and scanlated some of her older lesser known one shots which was nice. They're obviously nowhere as good as her later stuff but its still interesting to see where she started.

Oh WOW those are pretty...

I'd love to do it, if just because it'd be nice to do something different for a change and I'm loving the outfits (especially Berthie's), but I don't think I'm going to USA due to funds and I'm on Logistics staff for Katsu (though they do let you dress up so long as it's not interfering with the job). :/
