Cloud's freaking sword
Aug. 9th, 2004 09:39 pmThis topic has seriously kept me up thinking several nights already. ^^;
Yeah, I originally really wanted to make Cloud's sword myself for my Advent Children costume (I'm sure I've rambled enough to most of you that you should all know by now that I've been planning this one for a while) but uh...I still have no clue how I'm going to do it.
And as I think about it more, I don't think I can make it on my own with the very limited amount of skills I have. I've never worked with wood or metal or anything like that so I have no idea where to even begin or what materials are best.
So...any of you who have worked on props before...if any of you could guide me through how to make it (as in like a step-by-step detailed guide and details on the materials needed) or at least help me out with how to go about making things like this....OR if anyone would be willing to make it for me, I'd gladly pay for it.
Though the perfectionist in me would like to be able to do it myself since I prefer having all aspects of a costume made by me. But I really have no clue. ~_~; And like no one with prop experience lives close enough to me to help me work on it. So unless a miracle happens and I find someone with experience on campus who can help me, I'm going to have to either not have the sword or pay someone to make it for me. And I'd preferly like to have it before Nekocon since thats when I'm going to try to finish the costume for.
Any help/advice is appreciated, as always. ^^
And on that note, it looks like I'm definently going to go to Nekocon since I have a back-up ride already in case I can't get one from anyone on my campus. I'm pretty sure I'll have enough money. In fact, I might even be able to seriously go to Anime Expo next year if things go well for me. After all, all I use my money on is cons and cosplay. ^^; Because I seriously have no life.
Random: I personally love the new opening and ending sequences in FMA. ^^ I keep forgetting to mention that. They rock! And even though the anime has gone waaaay off course from the manga, I still love it. A lot. The last few episodes made me fall in love with it all over again. Both the manga and anime rock in my opinion.
