rose_of_painTime for yet another one of my ridiculously long con reports. XP
Thursday:
So Gabi and I piled into Kat's car (known as DeadPool ^^;;) and got to the con. And man, never been around a con while they're setting up. Was a new experience. I was also hit by a major wave of nostalgia the moment I walked in. It was a big mind boogling being in the old Katsucon hotel as I have so many memories there. Dani and Dar called to say they were getting a late start so I just put my stuff in Gabi's room and decided to help her and the other tech set up since well, I really didn't have anything better to do. It was a bit crazy and I did smush one of my poor fingers on some of the equipment but it was fun at the same time. Got to use the freight elevator and felt rather good doing even just a small part for the con. But I did get dizzy after a while. I think because I'm just not used to doing that much manual labor that quickly. As a lot of the stuff was really heavy for me. So I decided to call it quits when Dani and Dar and everyone got in. Went up to their room and chatted for a bit. I ended up not staying in their room but in Gabi's room since they had extra space and the room was free. It was really weird though as none of the people in the room went to sleep til about like....5/6am in the morning. ^^; So I was the only one in there for a long time and I had a hard time sleeping. I think because I was wondering about them and all. 'Cause once they all came in, I finally was able to sleep soundly. And they all had to get up pretty early too. Felt bad for them. I got up early too but more so because I wanted to get every hour out of my con.
Friday:
Oh boy. This was one busy day that went on forever. Got up pretty early and got into Kanda and got into the pre-reg line. Well...reg line. They didn't really have room for 2 separate lines so had everyone in one line and broke it off into 2 branches. Was kinda odd and it would've gone a lot faster if there was 2 lines but I don't think they had any other choice with the space provided. Right after getting my badge, I ran into Tom, Alyce, Brittany, and Izzy, which was very convenient. Helped them bring in the pieces of Mateus and then moved my own stuff into our room. There were parts of Mateus everywhere. XP Ling and co. arrived so I gave Magenta her Sandwich cravat I made and I wandered a little bit with them while they had issues figuring out the badges for the panels. So I headed over to the Dealer's Room since it was open.
Dealer's Room was highly disapointing. Didn't really see anything worth while and so many things were just too overpriced for me. Saw some Ludwig Kakumei stuff but I really couldn't justify the price they were asking. I did run into Vicky though working at Sasusaga and she was wearing her Clown Crown Allen so we had a great moment of taunting each other back and forth. XP And talking in general after that. She was all happy that I reacted in character to her taunts. XP I bought one of the FF chibi arts figures hoping to get Cloud or Vaan. Got Penelo which was fine as I just gave it to Alyce. ^^ Saw some awesome Suikoden cosplayers in the Dealer's Room. Though I didn't realize you aren't supposed to take photos in the Dealer's Room and I already had my finger on the button when a staff guy told me not to take one. So it took as he said it. Oops. ^^;;; I also ran into a REALLY tall male Allen. Who came up to me and was all "Who's the beansprout now, huh huh?" XPXP I glared at him. lol
After that took all the boys over to a doll meet. Got there late so not many people were left by the time Magenta and I got there. But did see a vampire elf Kirill and gotta say, glad I stuck with my homme kirill. I don't really like the new one as much. Don't like the mouth at all nor the face-up or wig. After that we changed into Cain and Jezebel. I went to the Hall contest. I didn't really expect to win anything but I felt like entering since I fully lined the costume and everything. And glad I did as the feedback I got made me really happy. The judges were really impressed by the fact I lined it all and such. So I felt really good at that.
Then it was time for our first panel, Cosplay on a Budget. The panel went really well. At first we were afraid no one would come but we had a pretty decent turn out and they were all talking with us so it was cool. We talked about just about everything cosplay and could've gone longer except we only had so much time. Our main point of advice to everyone wanting to save money was to make a Chinese friend. XP They have all the resources, really. After the panel we were going to do a dinner to talk about the Katsu skit but Dani wasn't available and I decided to just hang with Ling and co instead so not to risk missing the panel. Then I met up with Magenta as Jez and hung out with Ken at the bar area for a bit. We were going to go over to the ball but I poked my head in and since it was pretty much just a high school prom, lost total interest. Besides we had to go get ready for the panel soon anyways.
Got into Ruthberg (geez how many times have I worn this costume now? lol) and headed over to the panel room. I was the first one over there and so took my time putting my nails on. I had to have Yale help me and he almost got glued to me a few times. XP The 2nd panel was Boys' Love Games and well, the panel had a slow start and then this total asshole started ranting on about "why is there only this twinkie shit? why isn't there any bara?" and I learned a new term. Apparantly bara can refer to big muscular men on men action. O_o Which of course, is not what our panel is about. At all. And he kept going on and on about it even when we tried to calmly explain to him this wasn't the place and we couldn't help him as we're not a company so we have no say over what gets translated or not. We kept telling him things he could do to get what he wants but he refused to shut up! Our poor audience was trying to help argue with us but finally it was the staff guy who got the guy to shut up and leave. The staff guy was really nice. He was our hero. XP I kept quiet during the whole thing as I just found it utterly ridiculous. He even came up to us after the panel and wouldn't leave. x_x;; But eventually we got everyone to escape using our photoshoot as an excuse.
Spent the rest of the night doing AnimaMundi photos in the bar area. Al came over...right after I finished taking my nails off. ^^;; So I don't have my nails on his pictures. Oh well. lol I have enough pics of that costume as is so its fine. But yeah, didn't get into the room til pretty late and everyone else in the room was already asleep. After getting out of costume, I went to visit Ling's room and got really comfortable on Magenta's and Mimi's bed so had to force myself to get up and go back to my own room. lol Damn them for luring me to lay down for a second there. But yeah, finally went to sleep at like...oh dear, it was pretty late. I'm not even sure what time it was. lol I really didn't sleep much at all this con.
Saturday:
Woke up and eventually dragged myself out of bed. Didn't bother getting into costume just yet. Instead just wore my Cloud pants (which I brought for Fai) and my boots and AC shirt and went back into the Dealer's Room. This time I actually managed to find something I wanted. The CLAMP chibi series I had been looking for that has Ashura in it. And I managed to get Ashura on the first try! I was so happy! ^_^ That little chibi figurine totally made my day. lol I wanted it so badly, you have no idea. Then Magenta and I grabbed the dolls again and headed over to the Sat meet which was a bit bigger than the Fri meet and more interaction in general. There was both a Tanned El and Sha for us to oogle over. My poor Lucifer really wants a Sha to be his Michael. ^^;;

Part of me just wanted to stay there and play with dolls the rest of the day but I really wanted to get at least some time in Saint Seiya so Magenta and I dragged ourselves upstairs to change (we weren't really that excited about getting into these costumes again ^^;). I had to fix some pieces of Magenta's armor first and then we very gradually got into costume. I looked out the hotel window at one point and saw all the way down that Alyce and Tom and them were helping Brittany get into Mateus outside. I was rather sad I didn't get a chance to actually see her in the full thing as it took me longer than expected to get into costume. But yeah, Magenta and I made our way to the lobby in the armor and woah, I am sooooo glad we decided to wear these costumes after all because the response was great! This time there were people who actually knew who we were! ;_; We ran into Al like right away and he got pictures and then Lionel found us and he spazzed out about Saint Seiya with us for a bit. ^^ He even compared us to two popular Japanese cosplayers who apparantly did the same costumes back in the day. To me that was such a huge compliment. *_* And then we found this guy named Ray who totally spazzed out with us even more about Saint Seiya. It was sooooo awesome finally talking with other fans. It really made the day so awesome. That and we got some pretty cool photos on Ling's camera which will come eventually.

We didn't stay in the costumes for very long since we are limited in how much we can move and really after getting those great reactions, we were quite satisfied. Then I finally changed into Fai and originally I was going to go watch the Masquerade but I really felt like just hanging out with people instead. So it was back to the bar area to hang out with everyone who was there. Almost forgot my fangs so had to have Tom go get them and upon receiving them, totally spoiled that little aspect for Magenta. ^^;; Its hard doing the Tsubasa cosplay I want to do without spoiling people as everything I do from it is a walking spoiler. Oops. I guess I should just say that if you all don't want to be spoiled any further, make sure to be caught up by Katsucon as Sarah and I have lots of spoiler things planned. XP
Sarah came by for a bit but she had to go eat and Alyce was still with Brittany and all. So it was just me hanging with Ling and co. They were eating pizza and I was sitting there and Mimi remarked that it was rather amusing how I was sitting there on the floor smiling and looking cute and then I'd open my mouth and rawr demonic fangs. XPXP Magenta's friend Sakura showed up and we hung with her for a while. She was pretty cool. We went up to my room, with Sarah as well, to show Sakura the dolls and all and talked about dolls and Crisis Core and lots of fun stuff. Til it was time for me to go eat with Alyce, Tom, Brittany, Jamie, etc. We ended up not having the skit dinner talk we planned to have because Brittany had a total change in skit idea and really there wasn't much to talk about as a result. lol So we just went to Chili's to eat and relax. I just had soup and salad and omg, it never tasted so good. See, I had totally neglected to eat ANYTHING the whole con. ^^;; Oops. Friday I didn't eat a single thing. Not even snack food. Saturday I at least had part of a poptart and Yale let me have a piece of pizza. But other than that, nothing. XP So yeah, I actually managed to clear my plate for like the first time ever at a con. lol
Dani, Dar, Sarah, Ginny, Monty, etc. etc. also happened to be eating at Chili's so that made it rather convenient in finding all of them. Talked with them for a bit after I was done eating and such. Poor Sarah had hurt her foot so had to go get it checked out by the medical staff so didn't really get a chance to get pics with Syaoran but its ok as we plan to do the group again at Katsucon and then we'll have Dani as Kurogane too. So it was just me and Alyce as Sakura and I'm really glad Alyce did put Sakura on for me to take a few pictures else I'd probably be rather sad that once again a group I tried to put together fell through. (I have the worst luck, I swear, lol)

Me looking far angrier than I was trying for. lol But you can see my rings and necklace here (both which I made out of sculpe). Though blah, the bandages on the eye patch kept moving around and I didn't realize they weren't on quite right in a lot of the pics. Its 'cause I kept moving the patch around so I could see when we weren't taking pictures. ^^;;
Alyce went to bed after that and once again my whole room was asleep long before me. Well, with the exception of Jamie who was up just as long as I was. I stayed in Fai for the rest of the night as it was comfy and chilled out downstairs with Magenta, Sarah, Sakura (until she had to leave), Dani, Joe, Josh (who I just met), and other people who came and went. Ken was there for a bit too. Overall good times. Tohma and Evenstar came over for a bit and Sarah and I discussed Tsubasa spoilers and jokes with them. While Magenta and Josh covered their ears. XP Sarah, we totally need to find that candy now! Hope it wont' be too hard with Halloween being over and all. 'Cause we so need to have those next time! It'll be sooooo wrong but so hilarious. XP I ventured near the rave to get water at one point and was hit by the total funk coming from it. Which reminding me once again why I don't go to raves. Ewww. Smelly.
Magenta and I wanted to get some pics of our dolls together before the con ended so even though I was pretty much swaying on my feet (no I was not drunk, I still don't drink XP but I was tired as hell though I'm sure it looked like I was drunk ^^;) we went and got the boys. I was too dead to really be much of any help so just let Magenta take the photos for me. Couldn't find any good lighting at that time of night so the pictures aren't as good as they could've been, sadly.

I then proceded to crawl back to the room and pass out on the bed and shortly Jamie came in to pass out too so technically she was up even later than me though only by a few minutes. lol
Sunday:
Got into Cain again and packed everything up and moved it into Gabi's car. We totally beat the rush too as we managed to get an elevator right away. Score! So that was all taken care of and didn't have to worry about it for once. Then met up with Magenta who was doing a ghetto Riff since Ling wanted to pack up the wig she was using for Jezebel. Since we had all of Magenta's stuff and my dolls with us, we just sat in one spot on the 2nd floor and didn't move much. lol So unfortunantly missed a lot of people that way but would've been a bit too hard to move with all the stuff and there wasn't really any good spots to sit in the lobby.
I still love how fabulous I look in this costume. My favorite of my Cain outfits by far.
Magenta kept having to go do stuff like getting Jo Chen's autograph and moving her stuff, etc. So I ended up just sitting there by myself quite a bit. Lionel saw me and came over and sat down and just chatted for quite a while. Which was awesome as it was a good chance to get to know him better. Al joined in soon after too. And Magenta came back and we had discussions of Transformers and bands we like. Finally saw Laura![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
aergryph too who I somehow managed to miss the entire con until Sunday. XP At this point people were starting to leave. I tried to catch a hold of Alyce, Tom, Brittany, etc. but totally missed them. I did see Tom at one point but when I went down to find him, totally lost sight of him. Oh well, I'll probably see all of them sometime over winter break anyways. Around 2 Ginny and Monty decided to head out so Magenta had to go since they were her ride. So then I finally could move around. Slightly. Just basically moved from the 2nd floor to the lobby and sat myself down on the railing after that as it was harder to move with the dolls and my bags than I thought. This is why I REALLY need a carrier bag for Lucifer.
I sat with Ken and Jin for a while. Saw Jackie off and on and in general it turned out to be a good spot to stay in as I got to see everyone else as they left. Ken, Jin, Ling, etc. all had to go soon after so said goodbye to them. Then Dani and Dar finally came up from their artist alley and said goodbye to them. So just hung with Sarah, Jim, and their peeps for a while til even they left. At least Jackie was still around and so I helped her take pictures for her Code Geass group. Then she left though and it was just me. By myself. Bored out of my mind, waiting for Gabi to hurry up and call me. lol This is the problem about having a ride who works on tech. Can't leave til she can. Ended up not leaving the con til 5pm, the latest I've EVER stayed at a con. It was pretty dead by then too. Then we headed back and I was so dead tired but couldn't sleep on the way back 'cause we kept getting lost and I wanted to make sure Gabi didn't fall asleep at the wheel or anything. So by the time we did get home, I was pretty dead to the world. lol
So yeah, I actually had a REALLY great time this con though I'm sure the actual con itself probably wasn't that great if I looked at all the events but I was really too busy enjoying myself to really care. And I do still really like that hotel even with its bad lighting and no service on the bottom floor. It was just really really weird to have AUSA there.

So it was just me and Alyce as Sakura and I'm really glad Alyce did put Sakura on for me to take a few pictures else I'd probably be rather sad that once again a group I tried to put together fell through. (I have the worst luck, I swear, lol)

Me looking far angrier than I was trying for. lol But you can see my rings and necklace here (both which I made out of sculpe). Though blah, the bandages on the eye patch kept moving around and I didn't realize they weren't on quite right in a lot of the pics. Its 'cause I kept moving the patch around so I could see when we weren't taking pictures. ^^;;
Alyce went to bed after that and once again my whole room was asleep long before me. Well, with the exception of Jamie who was up just as long as I was. I stayed in Fai for the rest of the night as it was comfy and chilled out downstairs with Magenta, Sarah, Sakura (until she had to leave), Dani, Joe, Josh (who I just met), and other people who came and went. Ken was there for a bit too. Overall good times. Tohma and Evenstar came over for a bit and Sarah and I discussed Tsubasa spoilers and jokes with them. While Magenta and Josh covered their ears. XP Sarah, we totally need to find that candy now! Hope it wont' be too hard with Halloween being over and all. 'Cause we so need to have those next time! It'll be sooooo wrong but so hilarious. XP I ventured near the rave to get water at one point and was hit by the total funk coming from it. Which reminding me once again why I don't go to raves. Ewww. Smelly.
Magenta and I wanted to get some pics of our dolls together before the con ended so even though I was pretty much swaying on my feet (no I was not drunk, I still don't drink XP but I was tired as hell though I'm sure it looked like I was drunk ^^;) we went and got the boys. I was too dead to really be much of any help so just let Magenta take the photos for me. Couldn't find any good lighting at that time of night so the pictures aren't as good as they could've been, sadly.

I then proceded to crawl back to the room and pass out on the bed and shortly Jamie came in to pass out too so technically she was up even later than me though only by a few minutes. lol
Sunday:
Got into Cain again and packed everything up and moved it into Gabi's car. We totally beat the rush too as we managed to get an elevator right away. Score! So that was all taken care of and didn't have to worry about it for once. Then met up with Magenta who was doing a ghetto Riff since Ling wanted to pack up the wig she was using for Jezebel. Since we had all of Magenta's stuff and my dolls with us, we just sat in one spot on the 2nd floor and didn't move much. lol So unfortunantly missed a lot of people that way but would've been a bit too hard to move with all the stuff and there wasn't really any good spots to sit in the lobby.
I still love how fabulous I look in this costume. My favorite of my Cain outfits by far.
Magenta kept having to go do stuff like getting Jo Chen's autograph and moving her stuff, etc. So I ended up just sitting there by myself quite a bit. Lionel saw me and came over and sat down and just chatted for quite a while. Which was awesome as it was a good chance to get to know him better. Al joined in soon after too. And Magenta came back and we had discussions of Transformers and bands we like. Finally saw Laura
aergryph too who I somehow managed to miss the entire con until Sunday. XP At this point people were starting to leave. I tried to catch a hold of Alyce, Tom, Brittany, etc. but totally missed them. I did see Tom at one point but when I went down to find him, totally lost sight of him. Oh well, I'll probably see all of them sometime over winter break anyways. Around 2 Ginny and Monty decided to head out so Magenta had to go since they were her ride. So then I finally could move around. Slightly. Just basically moved from the 2nd floor to the lobby and sat myself down on the railing after that as it was harder to move with the dolls and my bags than I thought. This is why I REALLY need a carrier bag for Lucifer.I sat with Ken and Jin for a while. Saw Jackie off and on and in general it turned out to be a good spot to stay in as I got to see everyone else as they left. Ken, Jin, Ling, etc. all had to go soon after so said goodbye to them. Then Dani and Dar finally came up from their artist alley and said goodbye to them. So just hung with Sarah, Jim, and their peeps for a while til even they left. At least Jackie was still around and so I helped her take pictures for her Code Geass group. Then she left though and it was just me. By myself. Bored out of my mind, waiting for Gabi to hurry up and call me. lol This is the problem about having a ride who works on tech. Can't leave til she can. Ended up not leaving the con til 5pm, the latest I've EVER stayed at a con. It was pretty dead by then too. Then we headed back and I was so dead tired but couldn't sleep on the way back 'cause we kept getting lost and I wanted to make sure Gabi didn't fall asleep at the wheel or anything. So by the time we did get home, I was pretty dead to the world. lol
So yeah, I actually had a REALLY great time this con though I'm sure the actual con itself probably wasn't that great if I looked at all the events but I was really too busy enjoying myself to really care. And I do still really like that hotel even with its bad lighting and no service on the bottom floor. It was just really really weird to have AUSA there.
