MangaNEXT con report

Friday:
Hamilton drove Tom and I over to the auto place to pick up Tom's car. The place didn't open til 8am so we didn't get on the road til after 9am. The trip up was pretty smooth for the most part except for occasional annoying traffic. We stopped at Tom's house breifly and also made a stop at a rest stop that was being invaded by a shitload of old people at the time. Kinda scary. XP Got to the actual con around 2:30/3pm, a bit later than I had planned but at least I got there. Met up with Magenta and changed into Ruthberg in the bathroom. She put the nails of doom on me and thus started my day of limited mobility as it was really hard to pick up anything or hold things with those nails so I had to have Magenta hold my stuff and adjust my outfit periodically. Got my badge and chilled out with Ana, Magenta, and Tom til Stef and Dani got there. And then we all moved our stuff into the room.
The hotel was pretty nice and provided a lot of nice picture opportunities. Stef, Ana, and Dani went to Ana's house and Wal-Mart to get stuff and Tom went ahead to wander around the con. So Magenta and I just chilled in the room and finished the final details on her Mikhail costume. I managed to knock off 3 of my nails while in the room. ^^; But we put them back on pretty good and so none of them fell off after that. When the other 3 got back, we finally went out in our happy little AnimaMundi group of love.
And yeah, now I can reveal Dietrich's new costume. Even though I didn't get the right wig in time.

Checked out the Dealer's Room and had to have Magenta help me buy stuff with my limited hand mobility. Dealer's Room was TINY and mostly they just had doujinshi and hentai, lol. But this one dealer had a bunch of Saint Seiya model kits so Magenta and I bought quite a few. I got Shaka and Mu. ^^ Though you have to paint them. >>; So I gave the body pieces to Magenta for her to paint 'cause I really suck with paint and would not be able to do that. There was a lot of other tempting items but I resisted as I'm rather broke right now. After that, we just took over a couch and chair area and spent the rest of the night there. Took a bunch of AnimaMundi pictures and such. Food was ordered and Magenta and I shared a grilled chicken wrap which was pretty good. Like usual I was unable to finish my half. Then out came the surprise birthday cake for Stef.
So cute. ^_^
But argh, there was this really really annoying Roy cosplayer who we all dubbed Roytard who kept annoying all of us. >>; He was so fucking annoying! He saw Ana's Dashwood goatee and was all "A girl with facial hair?! Oh god!" and pretended to vomit. >> And like kept trying to take pictures of Stef's cake when we were about to cut it and just kept trying to talk to us when we really didn't want him around. Luckily we didn't see quite as much of him on Sat, otherwise I'm sure we would've all murdered him at some point.
The con was pretty dead by like midnight, which was sad. We all kinda migrated back upstairs to the room and chilled while Stef, Ana, and Rob worked on Abel and Cain for several hours. Then there was much passing-out-ness. Ginny and Monty also stayed Fri night in our hotel and it was very much awesome-ness finally getting to really meet them since I haven't had a chance to really talk to them before.
Saturday:
Got up and got into Seimei, which is like seriously the most comfortable costume I've ever done. Or well, hm, I guess L was pretty damn comfy too but this was the first comfy one in a long while. Took a while to get used to the feeling. lol Kept feeling like I wasn't in costume because there was no limited mobility or anything I had to worry about falling off. Stef, Rob, and Ana continued to work on TB stuff while Magenta and I went out to find the rest of our Loveless group. Didn't take long at all as they were right outside the elevators when we came down. XP

Tara lost her Ritsuka tail, which I still blame on Soubi. >>; So I guess Ritsuka lost half his virginity there? XP But then I saw what looked like fur in the corner near the elevators so we found Ritsuka's tail and his virginity was returned. ^^; Then we ran outside to take lots of awesome pictures. It was a lot of fun just running around out there as it was pretty nice out. Tom helped us take pictures too, which I'm very grateful for. ^^

We went back into the Dealer's Room and I managed to find an old school Samurai Troopers poster. *_* That was much love indeed! And the guys at the booth said they'd try to bring more Saint Seiya and Samurai Troopers stuff to the next few cons in hopes I find them again. ^_^ I have to remember that. They said they should be at Katsu. We also went into the Arist Alley/Videogame room. Kinda odd how they combined the two into the same room. But still a very cool place during the con. I pre-regged for AUSA while there and got a free t-shirt, w00t! We kept running into the Ouran group who kept bugging Nami and Tara to get into their Ouran costumes so eventually they abandoned the Loveless and got into their twin costumes. XP Ah well. We followed their spiffy Ouran group around for quite a while though as they were really amusing. Got a video clip of them all chasing bubbles too which is extremly amusing. Their whole group was just really awesome and really made me excited about when Magenta and I do Tamaki and Kouya..whenever we do it. ^^; Definitly AN but maybe Katsu too if we can fit it in.
Yeu and Digikoomi got into their Zero costumes so we talked with them for a bit. Much Loveless love! JJ and some of her friends also did the Zero girls and boys on Friday. Quite a number of Loveless characters at the con. ^^ No Soubi though. ;_; Yeu went to go change into Radu for the TB group, who had finally gotten down from the room. So Magenta and I decided to change into Angel Sanctuary so we could still get pictures while the sun was out. Once again Dani did our make-up and in record time too. XP

I love how my Lucifer costume never fails to scare people off. XP And while I was wearing it, the con turned into Mexicon. O_o; Like all these Spanish people came off this bus and invaded the hotel. They were everywhere! Like almost every room on our floor was full of them too. >>;; And they kept just kinda staring at me wide-eyed. lol Weren't even brave enough to ask what was going on. And luckily the weather was at a good comfortable cool temperature so I didn't roast in the costume like I usually do.
Went up to the room later and Tom was all like dead on the bed, being suddenly really tired and all. So the three of us ordered Chinese food to the room. And we just hanged there for a while. I got out of Lucifer because I didn't want to eat in that costume though I didn't realize Magenta wanted to get back into the costumes til after I had taken the make-up off. Whoops. So instead I just wore parts of Cain I had brought with me ('cause I like dressing Victorian-style a lot) and she wore Mikhail again. Took Dietrich with us and wandered for the rest of the night. Ended up missing the Ouran skit that Nami and Tara were in but caught the tail end of the Bleach Myu one that a whole bunch of people we know were in. We would've been able to make it to the thing except Magenta decided last minute to get into Mikhail. XP Ah well. I'm sure I'll see videos of it all.
Rest of the night was spent just wandering around and playing games in the videogame room with Tom. They had A LOT of old school games, which was great. And I remembered just how much I suck at Mario, considering I never really got to play it as a kid. But I did do better than I've ever done before on it. XP We did a little DDRing and a lot of Smash Brothers though it sucked 'cause I was playing against 3 (another girl joined us) people who have played this game a lot and I've only ever played it once before so I sucked really badly. XP The reason I have a hard time with that game is just 'cause I keep losing track of my character since there's so much going on at once. It was still fun though. Then the con started dying down and we just sat on the couch area for a long time and talked with Kitsu and her friend. I forgot their real names but it was cool getting to meet them too. I was all comfy just laying on the couch with Magenta but we did realize we did kinda need to take showers and sleep. So gradually dragged our dead selves up the elevator and once again passed out.
Sunday:
Well, not much to say on Sunday. Woke up a bit later than I had planned but then decided I didn't really want to get out of bed. Was really comfy all snug in bed with Magenta. And Dani amused us all with her great impressions. Especially the "penis costume". XP Ah Dani, how I've missed you. Welp, sadly Tom and I had to leave kinda early since I had work that evening and Tom had a paper he had to write. So headed out on the road. Unfortunantly we ran into a lot of annoying traffic and didn't get home til like 5:45 so had to go directly to the costume shop. So I was dead tired by the time I got back to the room. Bah. But it was worth it because the con was awesome. ^^
Oh and I got my wig I got for Dietrich for Sandwich but I don't know if I like it 'cause it makes him look way too girly and since the silver eyes are flat ones, I can't get them to do the "evil" angle but I could try playing with the gold ones and see if he looks more Sandwichy with those and the new wig. Otherwise I might just give the wig to Layla.
Anyways, gradually getting the pics up on my site. Going to be a while since I have work to do and all. But also am periodically putting some pics on my cosplay.com gallery.
