post-con update

I was originally hoping to get my con report up by now but blargh, I haven't even unpacked yet. ^^; Though I'm almost done with the pictures at least so con report + pictures probably tomorrow. Most of the pics are of the Nana shoot though and sadly got like barely any pictures of my bigger costumes and the few I got aren't even good. ^^;

But luckily I did find this picture online that I resized so it could fit on here better:


Me as Shaka and Magenta as Mu from Saint Seiya. ^_^

I won a judge's award for Shaka, so that made me very happy. It was the coordinator's award even. XP Which basically just means the head judge was really happy to see Saint Seiya cosplayers and so I got her judge's award. ^_^ She asked me if we were going to do it for MangaNEXT as she wants to get a group of her own together but I really doubt I can make it to that one. ;_; Which is sad as there are very few Saint Seiya cosplayers in the US as is.

Con was great though some moments really sucked but as always, I still manage to have a good time. Nothing has ever been bad enough to ruin my cons.

Yes, it's a pity Saint Seiya is not a very popular anime in the USA. In Spain, Italy and France it marked a generation and in our cons is quite usual to see SS cosplayers. Most of the times not as good as yours, though.

It really is. We don't even have the full anime available to us over here in the USA. They stopped after episode 60 so we have to get the rest online or through really bad Hong Kong subtitles. I know some Spanish so sometimes I can read the Spanish subtitles but even those seem hard to find sometimes. So I just recently got to see the rest of the anime by finding some Hong Kong subtitled episodes.

And every time I talk about Saint Seiya here the only people who really care are like the old time anime fans or my friends who grew up in either Europe or South America. And I have a hard time getting other people to watch it as they just aren't interested but its such a good anime! It's a shame.

XP Gold saints are very gold. And very immobilizing. lol When you do Shun, Magenta and I will probably do some other bronze saints as they are so much simpler and easier to move in. XP

Yes! I've been looking into it, and Shun seems like a character I'd LOVE to cosplay. Hopefully by the time you two are ready to do another SS cosplay, I'll have actually seen the series! XD; It's so hard to find without buying it.. Magenta said to buy the DVDs, but I don't really want to buy it without seeing any of it first.

Well I can give you links for downloading some of it if you want as there is a place that has it for download finally! Individual episodes too so I'm pretty sure they'll have the first few. I believe they are rips from the official versions too. Want me to go find it for ya?

Nope, not this time, sorry. Not sure when I'll wear him again really. Right now the costume smells really bad so I need to like febreeze it at least. I may end up wearing it at some point next year though since now I can add black wings to it as I made a pair for one of my Otakon costumes that could also be used for Luci.

^_^ Thank you! I remember at one point we were walking by one of the hotels and I saw our reflections in this mirror and went "woah, do I look girly" lol.
