Ooh. I remember being really impressed when TR came out...as far as the mechanics were concerned. It did have a steep learning curve like you said. Wasn't it loads of fun though when you had mastered them ? XD
It was sort of freaky though seeing Lara drown if you didn't make it through underground tunnels in time though. :S
I played it for the fun as well and never really finished it.
