fun in good ol' Gettysburg

rose_of_painSo if anyone was noticing my sudden disappearance (in other words the fact I wasn't on AIM every hour of the day this week), I was hanging up in Gettysburg this week. Spent most of the time with Alyce and Tom at Alyce's sister house and then spent last night at Brittany's in Littlestown.
Tuesday night was spent just sitting around and chatting and playing with the kitties. Oh man do I love that fat Mia, yes I do. I wasn't really able to sleep well in the bed there due to the traffic outside so I discovered sleeping downstairs on the couch was a lot better. So Wednesday morning I had a nice little nap with Mia on the couch. I'm amazed as no cat has ever been able to stay next to me for very long when I sleep as I move too much and so they usually give up. Not Mia. She was in the exact same spot. XP Then when I finally got myself to stay awake, I brought out the shinies (aka Zuka shows) and had Alyce watch Rose of Versailles.
We came to the conclusion that what Oscar was really fighting for was "sparklies for everyone!". That's the real reason the French Revolution happened. Also I never noticed how bad Andre's one outfit is until Alyce pointed it out to me with her "it looks like he took it straight out of Boogie Nights". XP That and it is so true that Oscar is really the only character who isn't dumb in that show. Then Tom came home and we went and captured a Beth and well we were going to have a Brittany too but she was sick. But we had her doll with us. ^^; And yes, you anti-doll people would've been quite scared. We had 9 dolls total among us. So we ate Tom's delicious lasagna and fun was had by all. I'm kinda afraid of the photos Beth and Alyce took considering they both managed to get a piece of me in a gazillion photos to the point you could probably put them together like a puzzle and make a complete Lyn. Some of them probably look pretty crazy too especially the one of me "molesting Layla" when I was fixing her bloomers and skirt!
We watched Elisabeth (1995 Saeko version) since Alyce wanted to see it with subtitles and Beth had actually never seen a full Elisabeth show (which shocked me considering how obsessed with the original German show she is). It was pretty funny having me singing the songs in Japanese while Beth sang them in German.
We were going to take photos of the dolls on the battlefield but the weather kept making us nervous. Then it was too windy on Thursday so instead I showed Alyce even more shinies. XP This time Seal of Roses and some of the stuff off the Ti Project Sampler disc. I'm glad she loved the "shiny cheese" that is Seal of Roses. XP For it is awesome. And I hope all the shinies I have shown her will lead to future cosplay goodness. XP I think already we have a mini RoV group forming which makes me glee.
The rest of the day was spent at Brittany's with a different group of kitties to say hello to. Though poor poor Allona. Raijin and Fujin pick on her so much that now she has to live in the bathroom all by herself so every time we went to use it, had to spend some time with the poor thing. The sink has become her bed pretty much and she seemed oh so happy to see me every time I came in. I remember a day when she wouldn't really stay around me much and now she's all "Person! ;__;". Oh well. What can you do?
I was supposed to stay a bit longer but Tom's car has died and so Alyce needs to pick him up from work and all so it was just easier to take me home this morning. That and I'm kinda dead tired from having less sleep than I'm used to. lol I'll probably start uploading photos onto the doll LJ soon and then eventually get back to working on my site (which I'm FINALLY fixing up and updating, omg!).
