Met up with Adam Thursday night after a bit of rushing to try to get stuff done. Didn't get even like half the stuff done I wanted to for artist alley due to the embroidery machine deciding it hated me. n_n We had to go make a pit stop at Adam's house due to him...forgetting his wallet. Good job, Adam. Then we were off! Were having a pretty good drive...until we hit what had to either be a fox or a dog. I'm still not even sure. It had pointy ears so...yeah...T_T So it's like we either hit someone's pet or my favorite animal. Either way felt pretty horrible. As it was a dead-on hit. Right into the left wheel. Thought the wheel was kaput but we pulled over and checked and the wheel was surprisingly ok. Just took off a chunk of the bumper and one of the fog lights. The road was way too dark and way too out in nowhere to really be able to risk taking a chance to check to see what it was we hit (and to be honest, I didn't want to know as it'd probably just make it worse knowing) and look for the fog light.
After that we were both pretty paranoid at anything on the road. Hesitated at a bunch of leaves at one point. ^^;; But at least the car still ran ok. Sucks though that Adam's gotta get part of his car replaced now. At least the rest of the trip was pretty uneventful. Got to the hotel, unloaded, and Prince Draco came over, having spent several hours drinking at the bar in the Embassy Suites next to the con center. I proceeded to finish my artist alley stuff while Adam and Draco quickly came friends and joined up on teasing me non-stop the whole weekend over the fact that I'm a lesbian who they find hot. n_n; Luckily I knew both of them were joking with their comments so I took it lightly and it didn't bother me too much. But ugh why can't I ever get that attention from girls?
As a result of neither of them refusing to shut up, we didn't get to bed til like...5am? n_n;;
Friday:
Woke up pretty late. Like 10:30/11 am ish due to us all being dead and there not really being anything to do at the con for a while. Got dressed and went to the con center to grab badges and check things out. Took my stuff over to Sarah's and Carrie's artist alley table. Sold the Kuro patch before I even finished setting stuff up. lol Obviously I need to make more of those next time. Sarah styled Draco's Jin wig real quick since Ren wasn't going to be arriving til late in the day. Went back to the room and had to help Draco into his Jin costume, which wasn't too bad. I was real nervous but it fit fine. The only thing I had to readjust was the belt, which I did a quick ghetto fix on. Ended up taking parts of the costume back home with me so I can fix a few things. I mean it all looked good but I'm anal and want things to lay right so I want to add velcro to a few spots.

He wasn't able to get the right sword in time for the con so he ended up buying two Bleach swords in the Dealer's Room and switch them so he'd have the right color hilt and sheath. lol Glad the costume was well received from the sounds of it. Meanwhile I just wore Akihiko since I needed Ren before I could put Len on and Adam couldn't wear either of his costumes til he had his wigs fixed up. Did a little scope of the Dealer's Room, considering I really couldn't afford to buy anything. But I did cave in and buy a Kingdom Hearts 2 chibi Cloud figure that I hadn't seen before. I had seen the phone strap version of it but never the coin figure so of course HAD to get that. XD Still sad I couldn't really afford to get the Dissidia figure too. >>;; Hope I can get that Cloud before its no longer available. Gotta get them all after all. XD;
Spent most of my time in the Artist Alley, helping Sarah and Carrie at their table and socializing with Tohma and gang at their tables and my doll friends at theirs. Was pretty excited when I saw Count Cain fanart at one of the tables so of course had to buy one of her prints. Pretty rare to find that at a con so made me happy. Was going to go to Amubleu's resin panel to get some helpful advice and hints as she was going to go over some stuff I need help with but Ren and her bf showed up around that time so I had to go back to the room to greet them. Though they saw how small the room was and decided to get a room in the Embassy for themselves instead. ^^;; So Draco decided to just stay in our room all weekend instead of just Thurs and Sat night like the original plan. Eh, it all worked out in the end at least.
Got Ren to help turn my old AC Cloud wig into my new Len wig. She also did some work with Adam's Yuna and Kenshin wigs. Got into Len now that it was dark enough for my glow sticks to be seen. Was surprised that I hadn't really seen any other default Lens all day. Saw Rins but no Lens so made a few Rins happy once I was in costume. Luckily didn't have any of the crazy Vocaloid fans like AZ so wasn't as scary this time around. lol The costume looked a million times better with the new wig and headphones so yay~ Forgot to get any photos of it on my camera though.
But here's one I found online to give you an idea:
Spent more time at the table. Ran into Junior and did a mini shoot with my Len costume. And well...not much really happened Friday to be honest. Had fun but didn't really do much. Ended up going back to the room and getting out of costume and went to Wal-Mart with the roomies to pick up Smirinoff and more Hot Pockets. XD We pretty much lived off of Hot Pockets all weekend. Watched some anime while we drank (and the guys made fun of me for not being able to even finish off one bottle n_n;) and passed out kinda early. Which was good considering had to wake up early the next morning anyways. Though when we moved the laptop off the bed, we forgot the mouse and so I ended up accidentally kicking it off the bed and onto Draco's head at some point during the night. Oops. ^^;;
Saturday:
Woke up early in order to get into Chopin and head over to Cosplay Rehearsal. Was kinda annoying having to go to that when all I was doing was a Walk-On but once I was fully awake, didn't mind too much. The staff was all very nice and helpful and gotta say one of the best I've encountered. Would totally do Neko's Cosplay again if I have something else to enter (or a skit). All the other entries were fun to hang with and that made the wait to go through everything not that bad. That and we only had like 17 entries total which was really weird but things went pretty fast. I'm guessing maybe its 'cause some folks decided to do stuff at AUSA instead? But anyways, they were really organized and it was pretty damn nice the system they had set up. Got to watch all the skits right there as they did a full rehearsal of everyone going across stage and doing their thing. Which was good because I was near the end in the line-up so didn't get to see any of the skits during the actual event. After that, went down to the craftsmanship judging room. One of the other walk-ons, a really well done Fran went with me. I thought for sure that we would be running late 'cause we were at the end and so I thought it was a lot later in the day but lol turns out they hadn't even started so we were the first ones there. Fran was real nervous so I went first. This time I actually remembered to talk about ALL the parts lol at least I think. Its hard because Chopin's got so much and I didn't want to take up too much time.
Sadly one of my coat clasps broke and I have no idea how or when. Didn't even notice til I looked down during judging and was all "...!" n_n But luckily the judges didn't seem bothered by that. Though now I gotta cast a new one. At least the backpiece is still ok this time around (thank god!). Ran into Adam soon after that, who had finally gotten Kenshin on. Though as soon as we started walking around...quickly realized he was missing the scar so went into the artist alley to ask around for a red marker and found a girl willing to draw his scar on. lol Good thing too as his costume ended up being real popular at the con. We found a Sanosuke like right off the bat and kept running into him throughout the con. Ended up going outside and took some photos of Kenshin out there and then Sano joined us and they did a video of the first scene they meet in the anime and damn, the Sano had like the entire episode memorized. XD Made me really want to re-watch that show. Meanwhile Ren got abducted by a Vocaloid group. lol She was wearing Kaitou at the time...of course the one time I'm not wearing Len during the con. XD Oh well. Sano told us there was a Kaoru around too but they didn't meet up with her til later.

Ran into Rei2Rei in her awesome Little Sister costume. I know nothing about Bioshock but it looked pretty cool to me. ^^ Was kinda glad to hear she had decided not to bring Mad Hatter since I didn't bring Lucifer and I would have felt bad if she had brought MH since I know we both wanted to wear those to get photos together but lol both are hard costumes to bring unless you're prepared beforehand. That and I think Adam would have killed me if I had brought those wings. XD; Don't know where we would have put them.
Wandered for a tiny bit more and then went back to the room, intending to get Michael out and take him to the doll meet. But then thought about it. The doll meet started at 2pm but we were supposed to be at the green room for the Cosplay at 3pm so that would mean I'd only have like 20 minutes tops to stay at the doll meet and the walk to and from the hotel was a little long due to having to cross a busy street twice. And I hadn't eaten yet so I decided in the end to just relax, take off the costume for a little bit, and eat. XD; Glad I did so even if I am sad I missed the meet.
Headed out back to the con once it was time and went backstage. Sat with Tohma's group and watched them practice their skit a few more times. Absolutely loved their skit. Probably my favorite of Tohma's so far. 'Cause they did my favorite parts of Tsubasa and it was really well done. After a bit, we had to get in the right order in line-up so had to go further back to my spot but it was ok 'cause the Gurren Lagann girls in front of me and the Madara guy in back of me were all pretty cool and fun to talk to. We all shared cosplay construction ideas and such. Got a few new ideas with how to work with foamies a bit better thanks to the Gurren Lagann girls so that was cool. Couldn't see what was going on at all on stage since we were on the other side of the wall. The room was a lot smaller this year too due to them having to use the other side for some other event. And the stage was smaller too due to having the band's set-up on there for after the Cosplay. Despite that though, it was still a pretty good Cosplay considering the small amount of skits. Tohma's won Best in Show and rightly deserved that. I also rather enjoyed the Hetalia color guard group even though I hate Hetalia. 'Cause I was able to respect their skit as they were very good at what they were doing and they chose a very good song for it. Also the fact that they had no yaoi involved.
I didn't think to bring any music for my walk-on but neither did any of the other walk-ons. lol Though the audience gave us all a pretty loud cheer so that was nice. I always get nervous of doing a walk-on and getting awkward silence. ^^;; Though even before I got the chance to pose, I hear Adam yell out "I love you Lyn!" pfffft and of course that cracked me up right there. I heard several more call outs but couldn't make out what they were saying due to the audience laughing and me being more focused on not falling and getting off the stage. XD; But I was told later that Ren had followed Adam's call out with "We love you too!" and then Adam responded with "She's mine!" and some girl yelled out "Share please!" ^^;;;;;; lulz At least that was a nice little ego boost, I suppose.
The half time show wasn't too bad. Usually I get kinda annoyed with them as they drag on too long and you're like "just get on with it already" but this one was pretty creative. They did a little game show with the audience with a shitload of prizes and the guy leading it was dressed as the dude from Despicable Me so it was pretty amusing. And his assistant was Zelda. XD And was surprised how much of the audience actually stuck around for the awards considering normally most leaves before then but I think maybe it was 'cause the halftime bit involved prizes so people stayed for that. lol Well that and Neko didn't have much else going on. So then we get to the awards and then they get to Best Craftsmanship for the Master's category and Paul starts saying "This one was a very...interesting portrayal of a well known composer..." and I'm all "ahgaiphgaiphipdhp that's me isn't it" lol So yeah, I won. XD; Was pretty nice to finally win something for that costume. ^.^ And when I went up to accept it, Paul was all "Sorry to hear about that whole...death thing." or something on those lines that made me laugh. Though pfft I didn't realize they were giving me more than one gift card prize so I only grabbed one and they had to call me back up for the other. ^^;; Oops. But huzzah, got $30 for the Dealer's Room.

Though afterwards I kept having my "man-skirt" malfunction. I have no idea why but it kept popping off. n_n;; Though eventually finally got it to sit back on right and it stopped doing that. Was insanely annoying though as its hard to get it back on under all the layers of stuff. Didn't wander around too much in Chopin mostly because I didn't care too much about getting more photos considering a piece was currently broken and I've got tons from Katsu and would rather wait til my group next weekend at AUSA when we're all complete again. So changed out 'cause that costume does get rather hot when you have it on all day and chilled for a little bit before getting into Len and heading back out. Found Draco and ended up going outside to take video of Kenshin and Sano vs Shinji from Bleach. lol Was actually a pretty amusing video even if we did have to do like a gazillion takes before we got it right. Though since the sun went down it was starting to get rather cold and me being in shorts and short sleeves...kinda wanted to go back in. XD; Ran into Ren soon after and was told that Kenya would be getting a break from staffing soon so we decided to wait around for her. Though she was taking forever and we got antsy and decided to go wander back to talk with Sarah for a while instead. XD;

Eventually Kenya did show up and we sat down and chatted for a while before heading over to Ren and Doug's (her bf) room where we proceeded to channel flip and make random comments at the TV. XD; Eventually Kenya had to go back to staff stuff and I figured I should probably get out of binding since it was getting late. Went back to the room with Adam, changed, and had the intention of meeting up with Sarah but couldn't find her and then Adam and I realized that there was literally NOTHING going on at the con center so we gave up and headed back and just drove up to McDonalds drive-thru to get food. I just had french fries considering I hate McDonalds but did want something small to munch on. Then watched some of this anime he kept talking about all weekend. It was interesting though not sure if I'd keep watching it on my own considering I got too much other anime to watch that I'm behind on. n_n; We were both pretty dead though as he passed out during the 2nd episode and I was heading that direction myself. So we went to bed even though I kept walking up and being all confused as to why Draco wasn't back yet. He eventually stumbled in though, which was good as I was beginning to get a little worried. Continued to have a hard time sleeping all night though. Kinda sucked.
Sunday:
Decided not to bother with cosplay, packed stuff up and headed to the con for a bit. Snuck into the artist alley with Tohma before it opened since I didn't have an actual artist badge. Hung around in there with Tohma's group and with Sarah and Carrie a little before the Dealer's Room opened. Adam wanted to get actual correct sandals for Kenshin and I wanted to try spending my gift cards I won. Though it wasn't open when we thought it would be so we headed right back into the AA. lol Carlo was around though so he offered to sneak us into the Dealer's before it opened so we took him up on that. XD; Got Adam his sandals and I searched but didn't really see anything I wanted at WizzyWig and so decided to just wait til AUSA considering I'd probably have better chance finding stuff when the table is fresh than the end of a con. Went back to the room and packed up the car and helped Adam get back into Kenshin. While I took Michael out and finally carried him around con considering I hadn't taken him out at all this con at that point.
Michael got quite a bit of attention with me just carrying him around. I had his wings on and that was pretty good advertising as I ended up giving my contact info to several people for future wings orders. Sat him down at the table and helped out for a while. We got bombarded with people wanting buttons so I helped make those. Even though they were going so fast that I screwed one up. Oops. ^^;; Forgot what side I was doing and accidentally doubled one. Didn't make much sales among all of us other than the buttons on Sun. Though I sold almost all my plushies between Fri and Sat and the one set of wings I finished as well as one of the hoodies and a few of the patches. So I did actually pretty good for the small amount of stuff I had. Made like $97 total.

Put Michael away in his bag and went outside to help the guys with more video taking. XD This time they had Kaoru with them and a Gourry from Slayers. lol It was amusing though as a result we ended up at con a lot longer than I wanted to be. So got a bit of a late start leaving. Ren left with my wig on so we ended up having to stop by her place so I could get my wig and P4 back (finally lol). Chatted for a little bit while there in order to give Adam a tiny cat nap back in the car. Then drove back. Got home pretty late but eh, oh well. Not like I would have had enough energy to do anything that day anyways. Just gotta hope I don't die trying to get stuff done for AUSA.
Overall a good con even if the con itself was a little boring. Like always, the people made up for it.

I heard several more call outs but couldn't make out what they were saying due to the audience laughing and me being more focused on not falling and getting off the stage. XD; But I was told later that Ren had followed Adam's call out with "We love you too!" and then Adam responded with "She's mine!" and some girl yelled out "Share please!" ^^;;;;;; lulz At least that was a nice little ego boost, I suppose.
The half time show wasn't too bad. Usually I get kinda annoyed with them as they drag on too long and you're like "just get on with it already" but this one was pretty creative. They did a little game show with the audience with a shitload of prizes and the guy leading it was dressed as the dude from Despicable Me so it was pretty amusing. And his assistant was Zelda. XD And was surprised how much of the audience actually stuck around for the awards considering normally most leaves before then but I think maybe it was 'cause the halftime bit involved prizes so people stayed for that. lol Well that and Neko didn't have much else going on. So then we get to the awards and then they get to Best Craftsmanship for the Master's category and Paul starts saying "This one was a very...interesting portrayal of a well known composer..." and I'm all "ahgaiphgaiphipdhp that's me isn't it" lol So yeah, I won. XD; Was pretty nice to finally win something for that costume. ^.^ And when I went up to accept it, Paul was all "Sorry to hear about that whole...death thing." or something on those lines that made me laugh. Though pfft I didn't realize they were giving me more than one gift card prize so I only grabbed one and they had to call me back up for the other. ^^;; Oops. But huzzah, got $30 for the Dealer's Room.

Though afterwards I kept having my "man-skirt" malfunction. I have no idea why but it kept popping off. n_n;; Though eventually finally got it to sit back on right and it stopped doing that. Was insanely annoying though as its hard to get it back on under all the layers of stuff. Didn't wander around too much in Chopin mostly because I didn't care too much about getting more photos considering a piece was currently broken and I've got tons from Katsu and would rather wait til my group next weekend at AUSA when we're all complete again. So changed out 'cause that costume does get rather hot when you have it on all day and chilled for a little bit before getting into Len and heading back out. Found Draco and ended up going outside to take video of Kenshin and Sano vs Shinji from Bleach. lol Was actually a pretty amusing video even if we did have to do like a gazillion takes before we got it right. Though since the sun went down it was starting to get rather cold and me being in shorts and short sleeves...kinda wanted to go back in. XD; Ran into Ren soon after and was told that Kenya would be getting a break from staffing soon so we decided to wait around for her. Though she was taking forever and we got antsy and decided to go wander back to talk with Sarah for a while instead. XD;
Ran into Rei2Rei again while waiting, in her kickass Lady Gaga outfit...
Eventually Kenya did show up and we sat down and chatted for a while before heading over to Ren and Doug's (her bf) room where we proceeded to channel flip and make random comments at the TV. XD; Eventually Kenya had to go back to staff stuff and I figured I should probably get out of binding since it was getting late. Went back to the room with Adam, changed, and had the intention of meeting up with Sarah but couldn't find her and then Adam and I realized that there was literally NOTHING going on at the con center so we gave up and headed back and just drove up to McDonalds drive-thru to get food. I just had french fries considering I hate McDonalds but did want something small to munch on. Then watched some of this anime he kept talking about all weekend. It was interesting though not sure if I'd keep watching it on my own considering I got too much other anime to watch that I'm behind on. n_n; We were both pretty dead though as he passed out during the 2nd episode and I was heading that direction myself. So we went to bed even though I kept walking up and being all confused as to why Draco wasn't back yet. He eventually stumbled in though, which was good as I was beginning to get a little worried. Continued to have a hard time sleeping all night though. Kinda sucked.
Sunday:
Decided not to bother with cosplay, packed stuff up and headed to the con for a bit. Snuck into the artist alley with Tohma before it opened since I didn't have an actual artist badge. Hung around in there with Tohma's group and with Sarah and Carrie a little before the Dealer's Room opened. Adam wanted to get actual correct sandals for Kenshin and I wanted to try spending my gift cards I won. Though it wasn't open when we thought it would be so we headed right back into the AA. lol Carlo was around though so he offered to sneak us into the Dealer's before it opened so we took him up on that. XD; Got Adam his sandals and I searched but didn't really see anything I wanted at WizzyWig and so decided to just wait til AUSA considering I'd probably have better chance finding stuff when the table is fresh than the end of a con. Went back to the room and packed up the car and helped Adam get back into Kenshin. While I took Michael out and finally carried him around con considering I hadn't taken him out at all this con at that point.
Michael got quite a bit of attention with me just carrying him around. I had his wings on and that was pretty good advertising as I ended up giving my contact info to several people for future wings orders. Sat him down at the table and helped out for a while. We got bombarded with people wanting buttons so I helped make those. Even though they were going so fast that I screwed one up. Oops. ^^;; Forgot what side I was doing and accidentally doubled one. Didn't make much sales among all of us other than the buttons on Sun. Though I sold almost all my plushies between Fri and Sat and the one set of wings I finished as well as one of the hoodies and a few of the patches. So I did actually pretty good for the small amount of stuff I had. Made like $97 total.

Put Michael away in his bag and went outside to help the guys with more video taking. XD This time they had Kaoru with them and a Gourry from Slayers. lol It was amusing though as a result we ended up at con a lot longer than I wanted to be. So got a bit of a late start leaving. Ren left with my wig on so we ended up having to stop by her place so I could get my wig and P4 back (finally lol). Chatted for a little bit while there in order to give Adam a tiny cat nap back in the car. Then drove back. Got home pretty late but eh, oh well. Not like I would have had enough energy to do anything that day anyways. Just gotta hope I don't die trying to get stuff done for AUSA.
Overall a good con even if the con itself was a little boring. Like always, the people made up for it.
