Yeah, I mean like it still wasn't an easy fight once I realized the translation error. It just...certainly didn't help any. lol Especially to someone who had never done this style of game before and was totally lost. XD
I went back and forth between who I liked more when I first played it. I guess I liked them equally at first, oddly enough. But I do think I kept pushing the romance bits more towards Tifa (got her date in the Gold Saucer the first time too, even though I think the Aerith scene has more contribution to the story. I do remember going back and doing her date scene too later on). But now I'd probably just do Aerith 'cause I dunno, I like her a lot more in the end. And despite having been spoiled about her death, I still cried a lot at it and was very hesitant to do that part, knowing she'd die. Kept trying to prolong the parts leading up to it. But at least I knew, so I already knew to take all her equipment off first.
Ohhh man I remember resisting a lot too. XD I was pretty angry at the age of 12 when I realized I HAD to press it. I was like "WHAT?! Nooooooooo!!!!" and was cringing as I finally did so (after like over 5 minutes of trying not to, hoping it'd give me another option). Funny though as of course now, I'd be all "yes~ Give Sephiroth the black materia, ho ho ho" XDXD
