Persona 4 and other anime rambling

First off, my weekly Persona 4 review...
I love that they still keep putting tiny little references to the game in this. XD Like the Daisuke and Kou cameo and whats-her-face-shy-music-girl (I never did her social link, I did the drama club instead) in the background. Very nice touch! And Souji folding cranes at the Junes table. (In the game, you can chose to fold cranes for some organization for volunteer work to boost one of your statuses.) Also glad to see that they did finally put in the whole Chie kicking Yosuke in the nuts bit. XD They just moved it to a different scene. lol THAT FACE he makes is amazing. Kinda like the internet Troll face. hahaha! And surprised by some of the personality they've been giving Souji. The whole "I wish I taped it" response to Yukiko's TV appearance....wow! Did not expect that reaction. XD But was really amused by it. But I do love how deadpan they make him all the time, which is kinda how I've always viewed him to be. lol Also I can't help but reminded of Hakuouki's Okita Souji when Yosuke licked the sword considering they have the same seiyuu and he used his Okita tone of voice for that line. XD Wonder if that was intentional or not? Glad they kept in the whole weapons bit but sad they didn't really put in anything about the alternate "weapons" they end up going with in the mean time. XD Would have been fun to watch Souji wield the golf club around for a bit. lol Instead they seem to be sticking strictly with the Personas as the weapons instead of the kids doing any fighting of their own. Though now that I think about it...kinda want to go back and pay more attention to see if they did have weapons or not 'cause I think I still saw Yosuke slash his card with his kunai to call Jiraiya but unsure if he had it or not or if it may have been the wrenches. lol
But oh man still oh so loving how they're doing the fight scenes! Love the whole having them fight WITH their Persona together instead of just summoning them and having the Personas fight or do individual attacks separate like how it works in the game. Visually this is more interesting to see. And eeee I really love how they worked in Souji's wild card multiple Persona into the anime! I seriously thought they would just stick with Izanagi to make it less complex (since the multiple persona only come out from what cards and fuses the player chooses) so curious to see which ones they will continue to include (hope Helel will show up XD). But I am pretty happy they chose Pyro Jack as the next one. Its such a cute persona. lol Even though I like the ice one better. And love how they're using the original game fight music. XD Actually a lot of the music is straight out of the game, which I greatly approve of!
I'm also watching Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi season 2, which I'm very much enjoying as its one of my favorite BL mangas. ^^ And its nice to see some of the Chiaki story that we don't really get to see in the manga. I also really need to watch the new Last Exile anime. I kinda forgot that it was coming out but luckily I've only missed 2 episodes. Though I'm still a little wary of it just 'cause Last Exile was so perfect by itself, I don't think it needs a sequel. But I did look at the opening and it looks really pretty and the fact that Dio is in it makes me happy.
I'm also curious about the new Hunter x Hunter anime...but unsure if I want to watch it or not since this is retelling of it and the story is somewhat different and not sure if I'll like the changes or not. Its also been like a million years since I watched the original though and for all I know, this could be closer to the manga as I never did get around to reading it so not sure how it goes. But I did skim some of the first few episodes and can't help but be curious. I just am trying to stay away from any super long shonen series though. I don't have the patience for them much anymore like I used to. I just stick to Saint Seiya these days (and I'm only up to date on the anime and Next Dimension manga, I still need to actually read Lost Canvas and the original manga or at least whats been scanlated. At least I've read all the Episode G scanlations but that one's really behind..). And not sure what category Claymore falls into but I sorta am still up to date on that. And fallen behind in Naruto but trying to keep with that one just 'cause I've been reading it for so long, don't want to give up on it yet but this is the farthest I've fallen with it so far. Gave up on Bleach years ago though. And still reading D.Gray-Man even though I'm still not very happy with how she changed her style and just how its not the same manga anymore.
Overall I'm really not as up to date on anime and manga as people tend to assume. I mean yeah I used to be but I don't really have as much time for it anymore so I tend to prioritize stuff and I no longer watch stuff just 'cause its what people are watching and I want to see what's going on and review it (after all I watched all of Chobits even though I didn't like any of it but only just so I could properly give an opinion and know the series, same with .hack). Nowadays if I don't like something from episode 1, probably not going to stick with it.

Date: 2011-10-24 03:21 am (UTC)I've been watching the new HxH anime, I like it. I watched the original anime and I got pretty far in the manga (somewhere in the middle of the ants arc). This revamp is actually much closer to the manga. Someday I plan to watch/read Claymore, I think that is seinen. I consider Naruto to be kind of hilarious and yeah, I haven't read Bleach in forever. DGM is one of those I kind of want to read it but must people I know still reading it aren't pleased with it. xD

Date: 2011-10-28 09:19 pm (UTC)Ah ok, I thought it might be more like the manga like what they did with the latest FullMetal Alchemist anime.
