rose_of_pain | cosplay report....sorta

Well, I think I'm just going to have to have the mindframe that I won't be getting a job for the summer. 'Cause sadly everyone is looking for people who can work longer for that and the longer it takes for me to find something, the less likely I'll get one 'cause if I don't by the first week of June, there really isn't a point to trying as I'm going back to school at the end of August. -_-; Boo.

But to make up for it, at least it means I'll have time to focus on cleaning...well...almost all the house and finally getting things to look the way I want to. And doing yard sales and selling junk I don't need online. As well as possibly taking on cosplay comissions and doll comissions. Though first I need to get some more doll stuff made so I have more examples to show before I start that.

I'm trying to find motivation for my cosplay. Especially considering I'm behind the schedule I had set out for myself when I started on Shaka. Oops. Granted that one is actually close to done-ish. Though the boots I was going to use have decided to start deterorating (sp) on me. x_x; Fun stuff. And my wigs still haven't gotten here even though tracking says they are in Derwood now. So uh...where are they?!

I really need to start getting the stuff for my big Otakon project soon. Hm...anyone have advise on where to buy good black feathers that won't cost me a fortune? ^^; I'm trying to figure out a wing plan that will mix high quality and medium quality and not be too big to cut down on costs. But yeah, need to get those feathers and figure out a good base. 'Cause even though the chicken wire worked great for Rosiel, it didn't allow me to make a very good shape at all so I'd like something better. Might just use thin posterboard like I did for Izumi, and just make it bigger. But don't know if thats a good idea or not. So yeah, wing people, what do you use for your bases? I want to try new things here.

I also need to figure out my prop stuff. >>; Blah. So much to do and so little time to do it and only so much money I can spend.

To Do List:
Shaka:
- get beads and string to make rosary with
- make boot and leg armor pieces
- finish the glove pieces and glue them on
- Tweak some parts so they stay together better
- Maybe get make-up stuff...as soon as I figure out what I need ^^;

Kanda:
- Get fabric. XP More black and white, whee!
- Figure out which uniform I'm doing, first or second...hm...
- Get stupid sword to modify. wtf Why am I having such a hard time finding a fake dinky sword to modify. Well I guess its being difficult 'cause I need one that is a flat katana, not one with the handle thingy
- Uh...make costume? XPXP

That-Costume XP:
- Feathers
- Figure out wings then make wings after getting feathers
- Fix up the costume itself
- Make that prop-thing >>;; Blargh
- Get vampire fangs
- Get a pair of cheap white gloves to demolish
- Think on whether this is actually possible to get done in time for Otakon

Only three costumes but they're hard and blah. XP lol And need a lot of stuff, most of which I haven't gotten and I'm starting to run out of time to get it in.

And BOOO! Plumbing guy was supposed to come today to fix our sink but he just called saying he's not coming and we're all pissed 'cause Dad took off early from work and Mom and I have been putting aside our plans so we won't get in the way and now find out we just wasted a day...great. >>; And with a sink still clogged.
