rose_of_painPandora Hearts = Promising. Very promising. I do like. Will have to check out the manga sometime.
FMA Brotherhood = Interesting. I too was a very rabid FMA fan back in the day when it first came out. So of course I watched the episode as soon as it came online. But I have mixed feelings. I'm a bit confused about this version. As I thought it'd be more following the manga as that would make sense but it doesn't really seem to be doing that. But then again I haven't read any of the manga in years so I'm a bit rusty on it and also at least 40 chapters behind in it. But I don't remember any Ice Alchemist so it seems like this plot is just brand new. And I guess that's cool but I don't see why they felt the need for it. I also don't know if I can get used to Shinichiro Miki as Roy. I love Miki but Toru Ohkawa just IS Roy to me. And I'm sure they just couldn't get him back for the new series which is the only reason for the change. But it's weird.
Granted despite that, I am happy to see FMA back (I loved the suitcase full of gloves bit btw XP) as I truly do love that series despite the fact the fandom almost killed it for me. I still have my Roy costume and actually this reminded me how I still have barely any photos of it so maybe I'll go try get someone to take more for me before I attempt to sell it or whatever. I only ever wore it once but the desire to wear it again died pretty fast due to the FMA fandom pissing me off.
Oh and btw I actually watched Pandora Hearts yesterday and FMA on Sunday but forgot to make a post about them. ^^;

Date: 2009-04-08 01:51 am (UTC)I mean they have #23 in the opening, and they show both Papa Hoho's in the opening/1st episode so its likely stuff is just being added. What has me concerned is the lack of Xing characters, as in mostly May and Ling. Well specifically Ling cause he's fuck win awesome. Hopefully they're not attempting to power through the series, there's so much goodness from the entire thing they could probably stretch it a bit.

I actually started watching FMA waaaaay back before it exploded and fantards came bursting out of the woodwork, but because after a very short while it got really old and I got sick of being smacked in the face with it every time I turned around, I stopped watching the series and waited until like 3 years ago to finish it. Despite the hysteria, though, I love that series so, so much (even if my favorite character got offed *sad*).
What's Pandora Hearts about? The name alone has me intrigued.
btw, I was wondering if you have Baiser's PV for "Angel"? My external won't relinquish it to me and the copy someone else upped for me is ridiculously crappy quality and I think I'll cry if I can't get it back. @_@

Date: 2009-04-08 05:17 pm (UTC)Yeah I think the hysteria killed it for a lot of us. I managed to get through to the end before it got killed for me. As it still wasn't that bad when it was just airing in Japan. But the moment it aired on American TV...it died. So badly.
And well its hard to tell from the first episode but Pandora Hearts seems to have a lot of Alice in Wonderland type things going on and its all victorian-y and dark looking so I'm all "whee!" over it. XP
Sadly I only ever had a low quality version of it and I think its even in Real Video and I don't even have that program anymore. x_x;;;; So I'm not much help there.
