Tsubasa - the end

rose_of_painThis is a little late, I know. But due to real life issues, I was unable to read the chapter until now...but anyways...
Tsubasa has officially ended. Its still strange to think that. I've been following it for quite a few years now. But I'm sure you all will be happy that you won't have to see my chapter rants/rambles anymore. XD But of course I need to do it one last time.
Well...it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I actually kinda liked it. It wasn't the ending I wanted but I gave up on that ideas ages ago but it was sorta close to it or as close as it could get with the current plot.
What I liked:
- Kurogane and Fai in Clow Country! ^_^ Thank god! The two of them are in the same place. And...Clow costumes! Oh man I am of course tempted to make Fai's but I dunno, I doubt I'd ever find anyone to do matching Kuro with me and it'd be kinda sad to do alone. But of course that made me very happy as that's the one thing I was hoping would at least happen.
- It ending with Clow Country. Even though I'm a little confused on which one it is...but will save that rant for later.
- The fact they are going to continue to journey through worlds. I dunno, that was kinda cool and I like the open-ended-ness of it. Though don't like the fact Sakura isn't joining them.
- The really cute confession scene + Fai and Kuro eavesdropping. XD
- Mokona! I thought for sure s/he would go back to the world of xxxHolic in the end.
What I didn't like:
- ...wait, so which version of Clow is this? Did they go back in time? 'Cause I'm guessing its R!Sakura's Clow because of the parents. But Nadeshiko (?? crap I forgot her name so I'm going to just butcher it instead, will look it up later) is alive when she originally died in order to help R!Syao. And I must admit I would be happier if it was Clow of the clones as I'm confused what happened to that world. I mean I guess the implication was that it fell apart and that it was just a facade...but I don't like that! I want to know what happened to Touya in that world since he was injured and all and I feel like I would've been happier if the Clones came back there. Just not the same, ya know?
- So uh, the clones might come back? Whu? CLAMP make up your mind. They're either alive or dead. Stop with this constant alive-dead-alive-dead-alive? thing. x_x;
- I was kinda hoping that they'd show the state of all the worlds they went to, or at least a few select ones. Like just a little summary of how each has carried on.
- No vampire twins. That story goes unanswered and I think it was dumb they did that as it was a really cool part and they made us believe there would be more to it and decided to just drop it instead.
- ...................................................CLOW REED?! Seriously. He never showed up. Never got to find out his part. I was expecting, ya know, SOMETHING?! I don't understand. That and we were never given Fei Wong Reed's actual motivation for...everything! We still don't really know why he did it or what happened between him and Yuuko. Unless they plan to answer that in xxxHolic but I doubt it since Yuuko is gone now. So yeah. Pissed off about that that one the most.
But eh, like I said, it was better than I thought it'd be. And well I thought it'd be utter crap. *sighs* It didn't end as the series I fell in love with and I won't forgive CLAMP for messing it up as much as they did but I still can't get myself to dislike it as a whole because there's too much about it I love.

Oh CLAMP, you have to learn when it is time to let something go... and how to tie up some loose ends (TWINS) and while it ended much better then I was expecting, there are some unanswered things. Hm hm.
But the confession <3 And the sweet smile as Syaoran went off to the next world after telling each other their Real Names. Aah, that made me happy ^^

Date: 2009-10-07 06:05 am (UTC)I'm glad Kurogane and Fai weren't separated, so that much was a relief, though they still made it imply that Kurogane was only going to be with them temporarily whereas Fai was all "I'll be your personal chef in Clow! :D :D :D" to Sakura and Syaoran. But whatevs.
Even though I previously said I didn't think they would do a sequel...I have to admit that it feels like they're going to. o_O Though I'm sure that's just me wishing they would give it a ending it SHOULD have, with all the loose ends tied up and everything. But since it's most likely not going to be that, I'll just have to accept the fact that CLAMP got burned out on the series, ran out of ideas, got lazy and just decided to put an abrupt end to it. Sigh. I agree that the most frustrating thing is not understanding FWR and Yuuko and Clow. I mean wut.
Big wtf on "My real name is Tsubasa!!" thing too. O_o Am I the only one that didn't get that like at all? I feel like I am.
However, I also approve of everyone's Clow clothes, and the face Fai makes when he's caught eavesdropping on the kids was FABULOUS. I think I want an icon of it. xD
Those are my completely unorganized thoughts in short. I can't believe it's over. @_@ After so long.

Hm, I doubt they will actually do it even though they technically could...it'd just be a bad idea. I dunno. x_x Please let it die CLAMP. There was no point in ending it at all if you're just going to make a sequel.
...I can't believe its over either.
