X-Japan at Lollapalooza

Not sure how many of you know about this who might care but X-Japan is going to be performing at Lollapalooza this year in Chicago, August 6-8.

They talked about it earlier this year but were just recently officially added to the line-up. In the line-up really the only other name that I'd be interested in seeing is Lady Gaga. Though talking to Marissa and she pointed out it probably would be worth going just for those two.

I did say I'd go anywhere they go if they finally came to the US to do a performance. And this is certainly closer to CA which is where I thought they'd end up performing (still not as close and convenient as NYC was going to be baaaaaah).

Just...not exactly a venue I ever saw myself going to. Not a crowd I'd enjoy being with. Might risk the chance of being psychically injured here due to how weak I am and how I can barely handle concert crowds at cons, man. x_x; So I know I'd have to stay pretty far back in the crowd if I did go. And I'd probably time it so I'd only go out for those 2 unless I decide some of the others are worth seeing.

Annnd its a lot of money. And no idea if I'd be able to find anyone else to go with me. Graaaaah. Sucks. -_-;

I keep hoping maybe they'll announce another performance that will be easier for me to attend. *crosses fingers*

Aren't the tickets like $215? Not that it probably wouldn't be worth it with Lady GaGa and X. There are some other good bands playing - Spoon, Metric, Minus the Bear and The New Pornographers are all great, not to mention the bigger acts like Green Day and Social Distortion. But the crowds will probably be a problem, though I think jrock fans are ruder/scarier in a crowd than metal fans.

Yeah, they are. Granted that doesn't seem too unfair for the amount of artists playing. And I think its normally several days long? I dunno. I think I have a friend who went once so I can ask him about it.

lol As usual I'm so out of the loop I don't know like any of those names. XD I think the only ones I recognize on the line up in general besides X and Gaga are Green Day, Switchfoot, Erykah Badu, Devo, Blues Traveler, and I think I've at least heard of Soundgarden...lol XD

But yeah, I pretty much mentioned both those issues in my post. Blah. Dunno. Unlikely I'll go but it'll make me sad.

I'm...I'm probably going to be in Wisconsin then...maybe I can talk my brother into escaping with me for this...because seriously. Lady Gaga and X Japan. *wants*

How much are the tickets? I live about 3 hours away from Chicago, and I'd LOOOOOOOOOOVE to see X-Japan. @_@ But if they're super expensive, I probably won't be able to. T_T And I'm betting they are.

Though for me it'd be more the flight and hotel or whatever that would do me in. lol
