Otakon was overall a pretty good con for me this year. Insanely tiring but good. It went by really fast but most likely because I was doing a lot.

Thursday:

So due to the power outage I had at the beginning of the week, I was way behind on stuff for the con. Didn't finish until around like 4pm I think. n_n Packed as fast as I could and headed out to Baltimore. By the time I got there, my roomies had already gone off to eat but luckily they were finishing up so were on their way back to meet me in the lobby of the Days Inn. While waiting, saw Link and Sang and talked to them for a bit before they headed out for their own dinner plans. Then went up to the room. We got connecting rooms this year, which was nice. We didn't get that last year. My room consisted of Dani, me, Miles, Emily and Mike (employees at Dani's store who were both very awesome!), and then Jesus!Dan for just Sat night. So a good amount for the small size of the rooms in that hotel. When we got me and my crap up to the room there was about 45 minutes left til the pool closed so they all rushed into their bathing suits and down to the pool. XD; Dar came back up a few minutes later though due to a stomach ache and discovered a tick on her thigh. I haven't had a tick on me since I was a kid so I had like no clue what one does. I remember you have to kill it with a match but wasn't sure what you do to get it off since Dar said it was stuck pretty bad. She was all "Get Dani T_T" lol so I went down to the pool and got them to all come up and figure it out. Not sure how they got it out as I decided not to watch. XD; Poor Dar was pretty grossed out by it.

Meanwhile Corey, Tohma, Jensen, etc etc. had also arrived pretty much the same time as me...which is a bit ridiculous considering they left waaaaaay before me and were coming from Richmond. Apparently there was several huge accidents down that direction. Took them 9 hours to get to the con. o_o Dang. But anyways, got into "casual Lucifer" aka Kira lol to meet up with Corey and John who were doing casual Rosiel and Katan at the time.

Whoo closet cosplay. Haven't done that in ages. XD;

Went to get our badges. Thank god they figured out a better system so there was no line this year, the way it has been for years but for some reason last year it got screwed up. So we were in and out. Though I was kinda annoyed with the small selection of badges this year. Did we really need three Hetalia ones? n_n; I got Roy Mustang 'cause it was honestly the only badge I saw of something I liked. The only other badge that interested me was the Hayate the Combat Butler one but I've only seen a few episodes so far. While getting our badges, we ran into like freaking everyone almost. lol Saw even Angie for a bit which was nice as I haven't seen her in ages.

We were going to go eat with the rest of the group but everyone ended up going off in their own directions so we decided to just go to the Japanese restaurant which was unusually empty. Even on Thurs night that place is usually packed but I guess it was kinda late by the time we got there. I had some gyoza which was totally what I needed at the moment (I like to eat light at cons). Granted I question their service considering Corey had a fork in her udon soup. Probably should have complained about that as it was literally in her soup as in someone must have dropped one in there. n_n; 'Cause I've never had Udon even served with one so can't say it just slipped in.

Went back to my room, changed into comfy clothes, grabbed my boots and headed back over to the insanity that was Corey's room (god there was too many people in that room lol) for rehearsal. Except I get there like at the time we were supposed to start and there's like...no one there. o_o; Granted it ended up not mattering because we get a call from Bonnie saying she got put on the wrong bus and was going to be pretty late and would have to be picked up from where she was. So we figured there was no point in rehearsing for a while so just chilled out in the room. Luckily she managed to actually show up earlier than we thought so we didn't start as late as we thought we would. So we all start assembling whatever we needed for our practice (mainly the wings). Bonnie started assembling Adam Kadamon...only to realize she had forgotten the backpiece for her wings and the costume doesn't really work without it. So insert massive panic here. I felt so bad for her as I know she had been working on the thing for a REALLY long time and to have something like that happen... Luckily one of her friends at school managed to express ship it out to her the next morning 'cause I don't know what we would have done if it hadn't shown up.

So then we had rehearsal...til 4am in the morning. n_n;; It was pretty chaotic but I think mostly because we were all tired to begin with so it was hard to focus. It was a little annoying 'cause like I knew what I wanted to happen in the skit in my head but I was at a total lose of how to help direct it so I just let Corey and Tohma take over there since they're a little more experienced with that. I just provided the basic outline of what should happen and all. We got a least a basic idea of what we were going to do though we quickly realized we were doing it waaaaaay too fast but figured we'd figure that out the next night as we were all just sooooo dead. Poor Solveig had come all the way from Germany and wasn't used to being up at this time. Granted the rehearsal wasn't all bad. We did seem to have some fun despite how tired we were. I think we were all pretty amused by "Gundam God"...Bonnie's stilts squeeked when she walked making her sound like a Gundam. XD;;

After we finished, headed back to my room and let me tell you it's a little terrifying heading through Baltimore at 4am when there is NO ONE around. O_O;; Though dear lord there was still a crowd of otaku outside the registration doors. I was like "...really now?" And then that creepy guy at the fountain doors being all "I'm first in line!" >>;; Wow... Anyways got back to the room and crawled in as best I could which was a little hard with a huge set of black wings but I somehow managed. lol I did trip over Miles' foot as I totally forgot he was going to be on the floor but I don't think he felt it as he didn't budge. XD; Crawled into bed with Dani and had to steal a pillow from her as she had fallen asleep on both of them. >>;; lol And promptly passed out.

Friday:

Oh man getting out of bed was haaaaard. n_n I so didn't want to. lol But I had to get up pretty early if I wanted to make it in time for Friday's hall. Luckily Dar gets up pretty early so hearing her get up in the other room woke me up and got me gradually moving. Got into Chopin and headed out to the con. Like last year there was a pretty INSANE line to get in but it actually moved really fast. A lot faster than last year, thank god. So I only had to wait like 15, maybe 20 minutes but I still agree they should have a way of letting Hall entries enter at the other doors so we don't have to walk ALL the way across the con to get to it when its RIGHT there and we have a time limit. >>; But eh I got in with plenty of time so it was all good. Grabbed an early time slot to get it out of the way and just chilled and chatted with some of the other entries. Got judged and felt a little bad that I went over the time limit but dude the guy wasn't telling me my time like they did the previous year. Just when I was pretty much finished talking, he was all "you're at 4 and a half minutes" and I was all "oh shit I went over!" as I thought they only allowed you 4 minutes and last year the dude like counted down the last ten seconds and made sure I did not go over. ...unless it was actually extended to 5 minutes? *shrug*

Having that done and over with, decided to go wander a bit while I waited for the Dealer's Room to open. Ran into Al like right away and got a few photos from him on the newly remodeled outdoor terrace. Which wasn't really that much different than what it was before...just a lot bigger and more plants. But glad to have it back either way! Then going back inside I ran into Ari and then Becca and Susan. I was like "lulz I don't even have to go anywhere to find people". Chatted with them for a bit. Then ran into Sang and decided to try going to the Dealer's now that it was open as that was his plan even though I was a little wary 'cause its pretty hard to get in that early. And lo and behold LINE OF DOOM. We were like "...screw that" XD and on our way back, ran into Kevin and his friend, talked with them for a bit, then got joined by Corey and her friend and we all tried the line again as a group and were like "nope, same thing". Kevin and his friend decided to try it anyways while the rest of us decided to go get food. XD;

On the way, saw this AMAZING Bahamut! Duuude.

We ended up going to Quizno's as it was the only place we could find that was cheap and had seats available. Corey's cup cracked and bursted open on her. o_o Luckily she didn't get anything on her costume but it was pretty weird. I got a little bullet sub but took like three bites and couldn't eat anymore. n_n I hate my stomach at cons. Its so finicky. So decided to just take it back to the room with me and save it for later. Changed into my ghetto casual Shaka as it was getting close to the panel time. I totally forgot to bring a pin to glue to the little pendant for it I made so I just glued it to the fabric and pffft totally wasn't in the right spot but oh well, whatever. XD; Had a little bit of confusion finding the panel as I didn't realize it was in the Hilton pffft. Kept trying to find the room in the con center. Had to call Ray and find that out and made it over there a little late but I don't think I missed too much.

So yeah went to Mitsuya Yuji's panel. He does the voice of Shaka so thus why I decided to do that last minute costume for it. Ray was already there in the front row. XD; So I sat with him. I was a little sad how empty the panel room was. Especially as he's kinda a legend seiyuu wise. Been around for a REALLY long time but kids these days don't know a thing about old school. Pfft. But yeah, he basically talked about his career and how the seiyuu scene changed from the time he started. It was really really interesting as I never knew that much about the history of it as he really has been around since it started. He told us about how back in the day there wasn't really such thing as "seiyuu" that all the voice actors were just theater actors who did it on the side if they needed the money but they didn't really pride themselves on it. And most of his early roles were just animals...lol. Only one person asked something related to Saint Seiya and it was just about if the rumor was true about fangirls fainting at Saint Seiya seiyuu events. XD; He said that yes he did hear about that but he was never at any of those events (since he's not one of the main characters after all). Though pfft Shaka is far better than them. XD; He did say he had these two Chinese ladies come all the way over to deliver this letter to him for his role of Shaka but he doesn't know a single word of Chinese so has never been able to read it. ^^; After the panel Ray was like "we should go get a photo with him" but I was way too shy to approach him even though we ended up like right behind him all the way back to the con center by accident. XD;

Then decided to FINALLY go into the Dealer's Room...only to not find the ONE item I wanted. T_T I'm actually a bit depressed with that. Ray told me that the reason Sasusaga wasn't even there is because they've actually closed permanently which made me go "nooooo!" as they are the only way I get my manga and artbooks at cons. Kinokuniya was there but they didn't bring like any manga with them, only artbooks and only new ones. So basically now I have NO WAY of getting the stuff I get at cons. Guess I'll have to buy it all online now. n_n Sucks. Even Anime Seikai didn't have any of the items I was looking for. Didn't have as many Nitro+Chiral figures as they have had the last few cons and the ones they did have were ones I either already have or am not interested in. I have this bad feeling I've missed my chance to get military uniform Akira as I decided late I wanted one to go with Shiki. >>;; Oh well. Maybe I'll get lucky some day. And I already have all the Lamento ones I want though I may consider getting Konoe to go with my Rai. *shrug* So yeah after that disappointment decided to just leave as I really couldn't afford to buy anything so no point in looking. Though god it felt odd not buying ANY figurines as that's what I always do. *sighs* Maybe next con I'll have money.

Then went back to the terrace to get some photos of my silly ghetto Shaka XD; so at least I would have something for it since I don't think I'll be wearing it again unless I find other Saint Seiya cosplayers (and even then I'd prolly want to do my armor version again instead).

So ghetto XD; Its really just 4 yards of fabric, surged, hemmed, and then draped and pinned. Pfft. I wanted to try to get it to be like an actual Buddhist monk robes but I got too confused on how those work when I was researching it. And well Shaka's is kinda weird anyways. Its not exactly a Buddhist robe. Its like a mix between one and Greek wear. Which I guess makes sense 'cause they're in Greece and all but I would think since he's Buddhist and all, his outfit would be a little more accurate to that. *shrug* At least it's the right color.

But yeah I felt a little silly wearing it. XD Not used to having that little clothing on (was real nervous at the binding with the outfit only covering one shoulder, I had to do just the ace bandage binding and that often slides down on me so I didn't want to wear it for long). Ran into my friend Adam from school (well one of the many Adams I know from school, lol We had like 4 of them in our group XD;) and even he was like "you seem oddly under dressed. I'm used to seeing you in something a bit bigger O_o" lol XD I was like "come by the fountains at 3pm tomorrow and you'll see bigger". And he was all "Ok!" ^.^ I love running into my college buddies at cons. They always make me happy even if I only get to talk to them for a few seconds.

So went back to my room and...*gasp* changed into street clothes. Pffft. Originally I was going to wear Yosuke for a while but I figured there was no point as I wouldn't be able to go to the Persona gathering due to the fact we NEEDED to rehearse again that night and I had no like real plans with anything con related for the rest of the day. So I just went over to the Arena to wait with Corey and Bonnie for check-in for the skit which was kinda odd how long that took as I thought it would just be like "hand in waivers, ok done" though turns out it was just because all the other skits couldn't make up their minds on times and we knew exactly what time we wanted for judging. XD So we were in and out a lot faster than the rest. They gave us these little sticky things for our badges which was kinda cool. Made my badge feel all special and shit. Then we got ice cream! Oh my god it tasted so good. I soooo needed it. lol Wandered to Corey's room with my ice cream in order to get the crap I left in her room and then decided to just go wait in the room for a bit as I had gotten a call from Alyce and Tom that they were currently finding a parking space. Waited for them in the lobby which was convenient timing 'cause Dar and the rest of the room showed up as well and they were about to go eat and thus didn't need their badge so I was able to give Alyce and Tom my badge and Dar's badge so they could go take a quick trip to the Dealer's Room so Alyce could go see her webcomic artist she really wanted to see. ^.^ Glad she was able to do that as I know she only wanted to come to the con to see her.

So went back up to the room to take a mini "nap". Wasn't a real nap as I knew if I did take one, I might not wake up when Alyce and Tom called me after they were done. XD; So just kinda rested my eyes on the bed and all. Felt good anyways as I was soooo tired from the lack of sleep. Then Alyce and Tom came back and luckily at that moment Dani and Dan were also coming back to the room so we all joined up to go eat dinner. We decided to just eat at the closest place we could find as no one had any preference and we wanted something cheap so decided to try the grill and bar next to the Day's Inn which despite all the years I've been in the Day's Inn, I have never gone to. XD; We got seated right away but the service was REALLY slow. n_n Took forever for our food to come. Though the crab soup I had was really really yummy. Granted I was also REALLY hungry so I would have been happy with anything at that point. XD; But gah our waiter kept chatting with folks and not paying attention. >> Took forever to pay our check. But it was a good dinner and we exchanged lots of kitty stories (lol I love how like all my con friends are fellow kitty lovers). I ended up paying them my money and heading up to the room a bit before them due it getting kinda close to the time I needed to practice and all.

Reluctantly got into full Lucifer get-up. n_n;; Just minus the make-up. As we had decided it was best we have a full dress rehearsal so we all know how to work in the full costumes with movements and whatnot. Which was a good idea 'cause half of us had costumes that were quite restraining. Luckily the Sheraton had this great large open space on the one level where we could practice. We had practiced there on Thursday too. And at the Masq check-in the really nice Masq folks (really they had a great staff this year) let us actually walk on the stage to get an idea of how much room we had as well as figure out how to get Bonnie backstage and all. So we had a better idea of what we had to work with. Luckily this time rehearsal went a lot smoother and we were only up til 1am. Huzzah! XD; Though I discovered at the end that the straps were digging into my skin on my sleeveless arm as at the end I went to readjust the wings and SUDDEN PAIN. o_o I hadn't noticed they were doing that til I moved them and saw a rather nasty red bruise there. ^^;;; Eheh. Fun times. My calves were also killing me from wearing the boots which I was like "oh this is so not a good sign for tomorrow >>;;".

Got back to the room and was quite happy to have made it back before everyone went to bed. lol So got some time to chat with them all and take a cold shower (yes, cold! I never knew I'd actually enjoy one lol but gah that pleather!). Then passed out with everyone else.

Saturday:

Got up rather early again but nowhere as early as Friday at least. Got into Glen and headed out first to the Mitsuya Yuji autograph session. Found Ray who was also wandering around trying to figure out where the hell it was. lol As the pocket schedule still had the OLD location and session listed even though they had changed it on the site but I didn't remember what room the site had said but luckily we eventually found it. XD; And met up with [livejournal.com profile] ziarenete13x who I met on the Saint Seiya Yaoi community before the con. XD She was in her Shun cosplay. Yay Saint Seiya cosplay represent! Sad I wasn't able to wear Shaka for the autograph but it would have been way too hard to change right after and all.

Shun~ Her box was so awesome. XD;

Got one of the DVDs from the Saint Seiya boxsets signed. The only one that has Shaka on the cover. lol XD; It was pretty cool though as I've never had a guest actually ask for my name and address me on the autograph. ^.^ Usually they're too busy to do that. Though lol only problem with the name Lyn is that the hiragana isn't too exciting looking. XD; But I still think its cool. He also was totally cool with getting photos with anyone who asked.

Yay~ ^.^ When he saw my DVD he was all "Oh Shaka~" and I was like "hee big fan~" XD; ...still wish I could have been IN Shaka at the time. Mou. Stupid scheduling.

Talked with Shun for a little bit but then had to head off to make it to the Pandora Hearts shoot which I was already late too. Granted when I got there, they hadn't done any actual group shots yet. lol Jane came over to me being all "what do I do? I organize the shoot but I don't know how to lead it" so I was like "you do it like this...GROUP SHOT PEOPLE!" XD; And went on from there. Pretty good turn out. Not as many as I thought there would be for a big con and with PH getting more popular but maybe 'cause it was so early in the day? At least we had more than AZ.

I'm such a short Glen n_n;; lol

The fun thing about the terrace now is there are more things for us to play with. XD There was a round stone seat thing that I ended up standing in to make myself taller for some of the shots. lol And there were chains hanging down from the one area...which we played with 'cause ya know...Pandora Hearts...chains...lulz

Not a great angle of this shot so hoping it came out better on some of the others' cameras as the idea was a pretty good one. XD Poor Jack.

And then we gave Vincent the giant plush rabbit that was being saved for just this occasion...

XD I hate that my video cut off though. Had to delete off a lot of old photos to make room for more as my video really does fill up my entire memory. But yeah...that's why we say Becca makes such a perfect Vincent though the first time she did it was still the best back at AUSA (even if I wasn't actually there for it).

We couldn't keep the gathering going for too long though as we all had things we had to go off to do. I went back to the room, ate my Quizno's sub from Friday and relaxed a little before very slowly getting myself into Lucifer. Bleh. Let me tell you I was not looking forward to wearing pleather for the rest of the day. At least it wasn't as hot as it had been earlier in the week. So I got into full costume, headed over to the room of doom to have Corey put my make-up on. She couldn't get the eyeliner to work well on me so ended up using sharpie for both the arm tattoo and eye one. n_n;; Also lost the top to my eyeliner which sucked as I was like "great now its going to dry out, oh well" as we had no time to find it. It was pretty crazy as we were all rushing around trying to get everything together. Meanwhile Bonnie and Emma (that was a pleasant surprise to see her there!) rushed to finish the trim on Adam in the lobby. Finally we got everything done and ready and we're leaving the hotel...to get a call from John/Katan that the fire alarm had been pulled at the con center! Which meant the entire con center had been evacuated.

Now we didn't need to go to the con center. We needed to get to the Arena so you'd think oh well no problem there right? hahahaha....ha. >> It was pretty damn difficult trying to push through a crowd of several thousand people with BIG wings in costumes that aren't very comfortable in that heat. I had no idea if any of our other members had gotten there yet so I kinda just rushed forward as I was the best in the group at getting around people and I figured as long as one of us got there in time we'd be ok. So yeah...BAD IDEA. By the time I got to the Arena, I wasn't breathing too well as a result of rushing in that outfit. Had sweat dripping down my back, my legs were killing me from the boots, arms hurting from carrying the wings through the crowd (at least I wasn't wearing them) and just burning up like woah as the sun decided to be out at full blast. Costume was not made for that type of abuse. T_T And of course got there and Tohma and John had already made it before us so were already holding our spot. Pffft. So didn't have to rush after all. The Masq staff was very understanding about the whole situation which was very good as it took us quite a while to assemble ourselves and recover from that. They had a whole table full of water bottles and we took advantage of that. I think I gulped an entire water bottle down right there and then. lol

Finally we did get ready and since another group was still being judged for craftsmanship, they decided to just have us do our skit run through first. Which went pretty well. We went a little too fast but I think it was mostly due to everyone thinking we had to move faster to make up for the large amount of space. lol But at least we got all the movements down right. Then Jensen's legs suddenly gave out on her. o_o She couldn't physically move her legs, which sometimes happens to her due to her medical issues. So we had to wait a while for her to be able to stand up but we managed, as long as we had a chair for her to sit in and the staff were very good at understanding that. Then took quite a while for us to get into craftsmanship judging as they seemed to be behind in that. We were a little worried how we were going to get Adam into the room as Bonnie's costume was bigger than the door but we managed. Had to have her stand on a chair though since we couldn't do the stilts in the room. Judging went well even though we somehow managed to lose like half our reference images in the rush. Luckily one of the judges knew the characters enough to know what they were supposed to be. And hey I didn't lose mine. Yay. XD; And we still had the packet'o Adam stuff which was important as her costume was of course the most intense.

The group wanted to go back to the con center to at least try to get some time at con in them but we all decided Jensen should stay there due to her body giving out like that. And so we left our stuff with her. I actually wanted to stay too and well I thought honestly Bonnie should have kept her Adam stuff at the Arena but she decided to go to the con center IN the costume. Which turned out to be not such a great idea. Corey dragged me off with them (meh really just wanted to sit down and chill til it was time and well also 'cause I heard Yoshiki and Sugizo were going to rehearse soon >>;). And then we had our little Angel amoeba down the streets of Baltimore. lol The wind kept blowing so we had to all grab onto each other's various parts of wings and whatnot to stabilize ourselves while helping Bonnie in her stilts. It was...kinda a mess. Bonnie's costume nearly fell apart on us on the way and her wig was a mess. Then we got there and were fixing her up and people would not leave us alone with cameras. ^^;; We kept being all "please wait for us to finish, we'll be inside the con center in a few minutes, take photos there" but I swear people don't get it sometimes. n_n Finally made it inside and got like bombarded with cameras. O.O;

Even despite the fire alarm we had long since missed the AS gathering. T_T Though I think our group became a 2nd sorta gathering. lol We did have a 2nd Lucifer (who did the mask and wired wing) come over and join us at least. I'm still searching for more photos of this but here's one to satisfy you all:

So um, I actually never got a chance to look at myself after I got the whole costume on so I had no idea my wings were pushed that far back. n_n;; Wish I had known as my wings actually do bend so I could have bent them more to the side and really wish I had as you so can't see them in photos if its a straight on shot from the front and that bothers me. Makes me a little nervous for the rest of the photos as I'm not sure I like how it looks. Baaaah. I guess I'll just have to ask someone to get photos of me at AUSA with the wings bent the way I want. lol I'm also thinking of maybe extending the 3rd and 4th wings so they're a little longer an more noticeable as I feel like they keep blending in with the bigger ones and so you can't even tell I have more than 2. Also I'd like to note that I didn't make the wings. Corey did. I have mixed feelings on that just 'cause I do like doing every aspect of the costume myself but its true that I wouldn't have had the time to do them and they probably wouldn't have been as sturdy if I did them myself (Corey made them freaking indestructible! lol I was the only one that like never lost any feathers or suffer any mishaps with my wings).

Didn't stay there for too long as I didn't want to leave Jensen by herself for long and I really wanted to hear X rehearse. >>;;; lol So Setsuna and Michael went to get food which they nearly forgot to do and I went back to the Arena. Though aghagphipi had a little panic attack at the fact they had closed the door and I was like "oh god how do I get in?" as they even had the lot section all blocked off with guardrails now. So I went over to where a bunch of staffers were, leaned up against the guardrail just so I could ask them how to get back into the Masq section and omg this one guy wouldn't even let me open my mouth. Just started shaking his head rapidly and saying "No" before I could even say anything. O_o; And that pissed me off as I could tell he was just thinking I was some fan tard trying to sneak in to the Arena. Took me a million tries to finally get him to understand that I was just trying to get into the waiting area (I mean the staff told us earlier we could stay there as long as we wanted and could come back early if we wanted so I knew we were allowed there) to help my friend. But he kept being all "come back when the doors open at 7" and then finally I got it into his thick skull what I was actually asking for and he was like "oh the door is propped open" and I was dear god thank you asshole how hard could that have been? 'Cause I so couldn't tell the door was propped open. Thank god it was though! Took me a little to figure out which door it was and the door was freaking heavy so took some effort but I get in and hear instantly "LUCIFER!!! T_T" from poor Jensen. lol

So I went over and took off my freaking boots, wings, wig, claws, etc. and kinda just died there on the floor...with a smile 'cause I could hear Yoshiki and Sugizo rehearsing and that made me happy. lol The staff even had video set up so we could watch in the hall which I thought was really nice of them to do that. They were all gathered around watching themselves. lol And it was interesting 'cause during rehearsal they did like a medley at one point of several songs which they did not do for the actual thing. 'Cause I swore I heard a little bit of Tears in there and they only did Forever Love and Endless Rain at the actual thing. So thought it was pretty cool I got to hear them doing that as well. Maybe they were still deciding which to actually do for the concert at that point. There was a Miku also watching the screen and we were both singing along for a bit and she turns to me and is all "Aren't they wonderful~? How long have you been a fan?" Me: "Eh heh. Let me ask you how long you've been a fan first?" "Oh about a year and a half." "...*thinks* Umm 11 years I think? I'm not even sure..." "O.O;" XD;; Pfft. God I feel old.

But yeah, spent the rest of the time there. Eventually the rest of our group showed up and we took over a section of the hall with our wings and crap while the other skits got ready as well. When it got closer, we got Bonnie assembled and she was put backstage with John and Kayla to be her handlers since she was the biggest costume of the show. lol Was really nice that they let us keep her back there so we wouldn't have to worry about getting her to the stage in time when we went up. Then all the skit people were told to go into the Green Room. Which was nice but loud as people just wouldn't shut up. n_n; So made it very hard to actually watch the skits even though we had a screen and audio. They had a screen out in the hall so we ended up just watching it out there instead for the most part. They did the Walk-Ons first from the Hall Contest and man felt so bad for the one cosplayer who's wig fell off. The entire Green Room was like "Oooooh damn that's gotta suck" lol. And we were all greatly amused by the Sokka and Zuko. Their walk on was hilarious. Major props to those guys for making a walk on entertaining. The Sokka was dead-on perfect too! I kinda wish I had my camera to get a number of the cosplayers backstage as there were some really good ones.

We were pretty early in the line-up which we chose on purpose so we wouldn't have to keep Bonnie in Adam too long. Entry #7 XD; to go with the whole theme even though we ended up being the 5th skit on as I guess there were several drop outs.

Here's a link to the skit again if you didn't watch it in my previous post: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0iajTeGdzM

Still so annoyed that you can't see the skit as a whole 'cause the stupid cameraman kept zooming in and often on the wrong people. >>; Would have been so much better if he just kept it still and focused on the whole stage. But yeah basically there's a lot of people doing an action, freezing while someone else does something, then unfreezing, etc so all the events were more stagger and the stage not too busy. I rather liked how we did it...just wish I could see how it worked! T_T; And granted I know the skit doesn't make much sense unless you've read AS but I don't care. lol This was for the AS fans and I think those that know it would be able to follow it pretty well. And even if they didn't, we tried to make it so at least you could understand the procession of events.

One mishap did happen though. lol Tohma (Alexiel) fell. ^^;;; Near the end when she stabs me and Adam, she slid and fell as well. She wasn't supposed to! lol But I love how no one could tell that wasn't supposed to happen so it's all good! At least it happened at a good time. XD; Though she almost fell on me and that would've been bad. Especially if I went falling into Adam. O_O Then we'd have angel dominos going on. Its bad enough that Bonnie told me later that I got a little too close to her during my lunging and that her face of panic was REAL panic there. Oops. ^^;;; Well it was only 'cause during rehearsal they kept telling me to get closer to her for the stab effect to work 'cause I kept trying to maintain distance for her stilts but pfft I listen to them and get too close. Derp.

After the skit we hung around mostly in the hall. Bonnie and her bf went off to go get something to eat. We took some photos in the hall for a bit though we failed at coming up with pose ideas. lol So most of them are pretty silly. They're on Tohma's camera so I gotta wait for her to post them. Watched some of the skits or at least what I could make out of them. Really loved the Utena skit in particular. Sad that's like the only one there isn't footage up online of so far. It was to Bad Romance (yeah overdone but it worked really well here) and was of all the messed up relationships that weren't involving Utena and Anthy so I thought that was clever. Basically all the Black Rose Duelist situations so got to see some characters you don't normally see cosplayed like the kid that follows Nanami around. And it was all very well choerographed. I also enjoyed watching them backstage especially when the Kozue was spraying the hell out of Wakaba's wig. XDXD; Her wig was like perfect! So much hairspray though. The Pokemon skit that used Telephone was cute too. I liked how they changed the lyrics and all. Though there was way too many Pokemon skits overall.

When it was getting near the end of the skits, I was getting a bit nervous. Realizing that it didn't look like they were going to re-seat us in the audience like I thought they would be. So I started looking around and when Bonnie came back and came down from the one set of stairs I asked what was up there and as I thought, the stairs led to the Arena and well there was no one guarding that section so I turn to Tohma and am all "hey, want to go sneak into the audience? I'd much rather actually see Yoshiki and Sugizo live instead of back here" so we snuck into the Arena and the spot we were at wasn't too bad. It was one of the balconies but it was the closest one to the stage on that side so we still had a pretty good view of them. And luckily there weren't too many people in that section so we could get away with just standing to the side since Tohma couldn't sit the way her wings work. And oh man sooooo glad we decided to do that because soon after we left, they made everyone go into the Green Room and wouldn't let them leave. And Jensen told me people just REFUSED TO SHUT UP so NOBODY could hear the video at all. I would have been a miserable wreck if that happened to me. So yeah glad I thought to go into the Arena when I did. >>;; Though sadly Tohma forgot her camera and I didn't have mine because pffft lo and behold they DID allow photos and my camera phone was way too sucky so couldn't get anything to come out on that. T_T

But...oh my god...it was BEAUTIFUL.

As I said before, Yoshiki and Sugizo did a piano and violin duet, which is pretty much what I thought they'd do. They came out and did Forever Love first and oh my god...I had to stop myself from crying due to the make-up as it would make the sharpie run all over my face lol but I did tear up like woah. It was just...such an amazing experience.

This video will probably get taken down but for enjoy it while you can:

Then they did a Q&A, which the MC said the questions were from ones from the audience. *blink* I guess they had people write them down on paper when they came in and selected a few out of that or something. *shrug* No idea. The questions were pretty basic.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6314YXFHM0&feature=related - Here's the video of that if you want to see but its hard to hear them. Mostly just about how they liked Otakon, what they thought of American fans, yadda yadda, the video cuts off before they finish but the last question asked was about when and where they would be doing their US Tour...

...and Yoshiki says right out that they are going to try to go to Washington DC now (and I think he said another city but I was too busy literally jumping up and down...in full Lucifer lol over my excitement at that). So yeah. XD Really hope they DO GO 'cause Squee! They also said sometime in October so yeah. If they come, nothing is stopping me from going. >>;;

Then they performed Endless Rain:

You can't really tell from the video quality but they turned on this disco ball thingy that added an extra lighting effect that was really cool. T_T The audio isn't as good on this as the previous one but the previous person said in their description that they did get stopped by security so were unable to record Endless Rain as well. And like I said, chances are these videos will go down too 'cause Otakon sucks like that. XD

But I can't even describe how it felt to watch that. Just too amazing...kinda an unbelievable experience for me. But anyways, back to the con...

Awards were done and we were actually kinda shocked (at least I was) to hear our number called out though they line you up in order that they are going to call them out which is...really lame. 'Cause then you already know exactly who wins what before you even hear the award so there is no surprise and it kinda takes away the magic of winning an award, in my opinion. Granted I don't know how they could do it better since they don't allow us to go back into the audience and its a bit impossible to go to the stage from the audience anyways. :/ But maybe they could just announce the numbers in a random order and have the winners come up but not know what they win so its at least a little more of a surprise? I dunno. But yeah, we got a judge's award but I think it was more of a craftmanship award for Bonnie which totally makes sense. We gave the award to her right off. The great thing about it is they gave us a mini Gundam model. XD So we were all "....GUNDAM GOD!" haha! How perfect. And some random DVD of something that none of us even really looked at. Pffft. lol Though afterwards the leaving the Arena was kinda hell because sadly we take a while to get everything together as Bonnie had all her pieces in the judging room since they were too big to put in the green room and this asshole (the same one from earlier even!) wouldn't let us wait and help her get her stuff. He was like pushing us out the door and we're all "O_O" because we know Bonnie can't physically carry all of that on her own. I mean we were trying to get out as fast as we could. And then they started closing the loading doors which was bad as that's the only door Bonnie's stuff could fit under so at least she managed to run to them fast enough for them to realize they had to open them up a bit more for her to get out. >>;; Geez. Not our fault the Masq ran so late. I don't know how they got all the people in the audience out so fast though as there was like no one around once we got out and I don't think we took THAT long to get together. o_o;

Anywho it was pretty late so some of us went to help Bonnie take her stuff to her room while others went to the con center to meet with Lionel for the shoot. And despite the fact that we all aimed for the same floor, we somehow ended up on two diff sides of the floor, waiting for the others, not realizing they were over there. Pfft. But Lionel found us and it was all good and since we were the last shoot there was no hurry or anything. Felt kinda bad as we were all kinda out of it and so not into our usual "Yeah lets do this!" mood with his shoots. We also didn't have as much area to work with due to lines for the rave and cosplay burlesque taking over that side of the con center. But the spot we did take photos in ended up working out really well so its all good. ^.^

Though lol on my way to the spot, trying to move past people with my wings who weren't moving out of my way, I totally snubbed past a Setsuna and Katou, not realizing who they were. XD;; They followed us over and it was THEN that I realized who they were and was all DERP! So talked to them for a bit even though I was really out of it. Corey even mentioned that I had started slouching the more tired I got. "The more tired Luci gets, the shorter he becomes." Pffft. But I had been in that costume for FREAKING 12 HOURS!!! T_T Never doing that again. That costume isn't meant to be worn that long. And wtf while doing the shoot with Lionel, we kept having really weird fanboys come over and just...hover. O_o It was so creepy. Like they wouldn't even say anything, just hover awkwardly with their camera. Mostly towards Tohma. lol 'Cause Alexiel's hot. XD; After the shoot we all kinda...died. lol I couldn't be in the costume any longer so I headed out and back to the room. Took another cold-ish shower (slightly warmer this time, didn't need the full coldness I did the first time at least, guess it was slightly cooler outside or something), ate some ramen, packed my stuff up and passed out.

Sunday:

Got into Yosuke since I hadn't worn him all weekend and he's comfy. Put my stuff in Dar's car for the time being then headed out to the con. Went by Corey's room first to get my bag as I had left it in her room and totally forgotten to go back and get it after the Masq. Ended up helping her put a few things in her car while trying to get in touch with Gabi, as we kept missing each other's calls. Then headed out to the con. Decided to head into the Dealer's Room since I really didn't get to look around much the first time and Sunday's the best day to look in there anyways. Found Ling (well found her on Friday too but didn't have much chance to talk) and chatted for a bit. Finally managed to catch Gabi on the phone and turned out she was also in the Dealer's Room. Problem about Otakon's Dealer's Room though is that its huge and kinda hard to pinpoint where someone is in it. lol She told me she was near a wig stand, with a hat stand across from it, and a nearby dress stand. Found an area that fit said description but noooo Gabi. Well looked around and saw there was another section with that exact same description. Pffft. And found her there and finally got to meet her bf so that was cool. I approve of him so far. Very geeky and very nice. *gives thumbs up* Then headed back to the Cosworx stand 'cause while looking for Gabi I saw a shirt I just HAD to buy. lol Gabi agreed with me when she saw it. "That's so you." So now I finally own one of those SOLDIER shirts. XD Hee~ It makes me happy. I saw [livejournal.com profile] makokitten wearing one when I met up with her to give her her Genesis coat and was kinda jealous of it but now I have one. XD

Wandered with Gabi and her bf who's name is also Adam (as if we didn't know enough Adams already lol). Didn't stay in the Dealer's Room long as we all agreed we couldn't afford to spend anymore money. But Adam wanted to check a few things out in the Artist Alley which was great as I was meaning to finally go in there myself. So went in and found Sarah's table. Didn't get to talk to her much as her and Carrie were pretty busy with people but I got Adam to go buy buttons from Sarah. XD; I can tell Sarah was doing pretty well this con as whole con I saw people carrying stuff of hers. lol I had brought a few things to give to her to try to sell originally but just had no chance to go in there to give them to her. Wandered out of there to find some friends of Adam's. They went off to go eat. I wasn't really hungry at the time so I continued to wander. Called Courtney up as she was like the one person I hadn't seen at all at this point. Got a hold of her and we found a spot to sit down and chat for a while. Though we quickly found out that it's dangerous to just sit on a Sunday like that. lol As we kept having people come up with us with random things. ^^;; Like this one dude came up and started doing magic card tricks. Granted he was really really good so I didn't mind it too much but he kept going on and on and I really wanted to get back to my conversation with Courtney that he had interupted. lol But it was cool. Like he knew his shit and I have no idea how he did it. Pretty impressive. He gave me one of his cards at the end. lol I'm like "what do I do with this?" XD;

And then while we were talking, Courtney waved her arm around to emphasize something. Just as a furry was walking by and to him it must have looked like she was waving at him 'cause he waves back at us and we're both like "....O_O AHHHHHH!!!! OH GOD!!" XDXD lol Oh fail. But yeah it was pretty nice getting some actual time to hang with her. We both decided we were actually kinda hungry and Courtney didn't want to go too far so we ended up going to the same restaurant from Friday night even though I warned her service was slow. Welp did take quite a while for us to have our orders taken, lol kinda the opposite of the last time when it took forever for us to get the food but no time to order. But at least it wasn't too slow after that. Though man I shouldn't have gotten the soup again. It was delicious but my stomach wasn't very happy with my choice at that time of the day. ^^;; Oops. Luckily it wasn't too bad of a stomach ache. Then went back to the con center and Courtney took some photos for me but blah my camera decided it wanted to be all grainy so not many of them came out that well.

I do like this one we took outside though. I'll have to check with her to see if any came out better on her camera. Since I do want more photos of the costume since I remade the entire thing back in April. XD It looks A LOT better now though.

And then at one point Courtney accidentally took a photo with my camera when it was pointed to the side...the funny thing is the photo is actually kinda cool looking XD

See? XD It'd be an actually really cool shot if my head wasn't cut off. Haha. Oh well.

Courtney had to go meet up with a friend of hers so I wandered off once again. Joined Corey, Tohma, and Sang on the floor of the fountain area and just kinda chilled the rest of the con. Jensen and Solveig came over and joined us after a while. Sang had to go but before he did, he turns to us and goes "ok who wants to be in my final photo of the con?"

Think that sums up the end of the con rather nicely. XD;

Met up with everyone in the Days Inn lobby, got my stuff out of Dar's car and waited my parents to show up. Sadly my backpiece on Chopin broke at some time during this. Not sure when exactly but I'm assuming one of the people who handled my garment bag (and it got handed off to several people) must have accidentally bent it at just the wrong angle annnnnd snap. T_T Was my own fault, I just assumed it was sturdy enough that it wouldn't matter. I should have taken the garment bag myself. Oh well. It can be fixed. After that packed up the car and headed home and promptly died on the couch. XD I've never been so dead from a con before as I was from this one. It was a great time but oh my god I was so tired from it all.

They were so awkward! o_o Though pfft I found it funny that one guy with the cell phone drama audio thing like gave me this look like he couldn't believe I knew what the drama cds were. That for some reason Alexiel would of course know but he was scoffing at me being all "yeah but are they legit?" XD Dude I actually bought them back when they were still available. I may look young but I know my stuff. But yeah it amused me. Oh fanboys.

...GUNDAM GOD!

Yeah o_o My schedule was kinda insane. Very much looking forward to AUSA where I've got like nothing planned other than cosplays with folks that are pretty laid back. XD;

Yeah, she kinda scared me at first. I was all "Are you ok?! o_o" right after we got off stage.
