Day 03 – Your favorite Final Fantasy theme/song.
Oh Pray. How I love thee. And this is my favorite version of the song, with the added lyrics from the Pray Vocal CD, which was one of my earliest FF CDs (after the FFVII and FFVIII OSTs). But yeah this is the song that used to be played at the ending credits of every Final Fantasy. Its always mixed in there somewhere. So to me it became kinda a symbolic "you have now officially finished this game" when I heard that song.
And then FFX ruined it. You have no idea how devastated I was when I got to the end of the credits and there was no Pray, only Suteki Da Ne. >> But I was able to let it go, 'cause FFX did seem a little different than the previous ones anyways. But then FFXII (since I don't count FFXI and no idea if they play Pray or not in that game anywhere) comes and STILL no Pray. Granted it might be because Nobou no longer does the music. But still! To me that was a key part to FF. That and the prelude and both are now missing. T_T At least it IS in the credit music in Dissidia.
Edit: Realized several days later...Pray IS in FFXII. Just in the opening, not the ending. XD; So X and XIII are the only two that don't have it anywhere in the game. >>
But yeah, other favorites of mine:
FFVI - Terra's Theme - I still get chills down my spine every time I hear this and my favorite arrangement is the Distant Worlds version. Just such a badass theme, man!
FFIX - You Are Not Alone! - One of the few tunes I know how to play on the guitar, lol. And I just love all of FFIX's OST in general but this was always my favorite. I think just because I really liked the scene it was played during. XD
FFVII - One Winged Angel (Advent Children Complete variant) Yeeeeeaaaah. Oh come on, you all knew I'd put this in here somewhere. XD Its overplayed, I know but I love it still and I actually REALLY REALLY love the ACC version of it with the extra minute with the new chorus and all. And for some reason I never get sick of hearing the song, though you think I would be by now. XD
And gosh I could list a whole bunch more, as I have a lot of favorites but those are probably my top 4.

Date: 2011-04-28 09:01 pm (UTC)Have you heard this fan vocal version of You're Not Alone? I was skeptical at first, thinking it'd be some awkward fan vocal but it's actually really really good. The girl does all the vocal and music, put it together herself and recorded it in her bedroom closet lol. It's pretty great. I've had a few of her songs stuck in my head recently. She's done a ton of game covers...including Aerith's Theme, The Place I'll Return to Someday (FFIX) and Rose of May (FFIX) (few of my favorites of hers). She's really talented. :D Just thought I would share. I think she might be planning on covering Terra's theme in the future, too. I hope she does. :3

Date: 2011-04-28 09:11 pm (UTC)And....HOLY SHIT THAT'S AMAZING!!!! O_O Thank you so much for sharing. Seriously, I'm in total awe. Only a few seconds in had me already in love with it. Kinda reminds me of the B Side song that was included with the Melodies of Life single. I forget the name of the song, its not actually in IX at all but its a GORGEOUS song.
